3.0 out of 5 stars great writing - interesting story
I think Ronica Black is one of the better lesbian writers out there. She avoids a lot of the cliches - - gets you into the character - and keeps the interest with cool stories. Even though it's get a little far-fetched with our main character actually IN the house with victim to watch over her.....the personalities, character development and flaws make for a story that...

A well-written, emotionally charged thriller that does not disappoint. The main characters are both challenged to overcome their emotional short-comings when they are forced together after a shooting places one in the protection of the other. Kennedy is the ex-FBI profiler haunted by a past case and a killer stalking her sister who reluctantly takes on the task of profiling the shooter of a famous star's wife, Shawn. Due to the grisly nature of her job, she has put protection, expecially of her family, before her own needs. Shawn who abhors the limelight and only wants her actress wife Veronica to spend more time with her and the kids is shocked to discover how easily the obsessed shooter has invaded her privacy.

Kennedy is charged with both protecting a recovering Shawn, while seeking clues to her attacker's identity. Meanwhile Veronica's ego sees no real danger and it is her reckless actions that send her wife reeling with one emtional betrayal after another. It is Kennedy's inherent desire to protect that slowly draws her to Shawn who is trying to understand why she ever married Veronica in the first place.

Compounding the issue is the stalker who resumes threatening Kennedy's sister that forces Kennedy to bring her sister's family to the same protective location. With help from her former FBI colleagues Kennedy begins to piece together the clues, but will she be in time to prevent the shooter from carrying out her obsession?

Well paced, and the supporting characters are more than plot drivers who help Kennedy and Shawn realize that they compliment each other.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good mystery, July 27, 2011
This review is from: Seeker (Paperback)
Kennedy is a 'profiler'. She lives with an event that happened in the past and haunts her, preventing her from forming close relationships. She is asked to investigate the attempted murder of a movie star's, Veronica Ryan, wife, and the threatening mail Veronica is receiving. Not only that, but Kennedy's sister is also receiving threatening mail.

What I liked about this story is getting into the psyche of the perp. The perp's obsession with Veronica and her rationalizations were interesting. Kennedy's feelings of failure about a horrendous case were also interesting. The romance was a little weak, and in my opinion, wasn't developed enough. The identity of the perp was a surprise. This is a decent story. I recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, March 29, 2011

I really enjoyed this book. The relationships were real and believable and not over done. It was romantic, but also realistic which was nice. Also, the thriller part of the novel was great as well- very entertaining and well developed. I was pleasantly surprised by this book and was sad when it was over. Would definitely recommend :-)

Good story and character development, I enjoy all of her books and this one was no different. I didn't gave it the 5 stars because I believe it could have been better at least in the suspense area of the book. All in all is a good enjoyable read =) enjoy!

Great Story about a profiler! Couldn't put it down until I knew the out come.
Not really much of a love story but more of a thriller. Kinda like Criminal Minds.
