1.0 out of 5 stars A shameless attempt to promote his website through his book
I'm all for the Sugar Daddy lifestyle, so my negative comments are only directed at the author and his book. The book is nothing more than a shameless attempt to promote his online website. You'd have to be living in a bubble if you learned anything new after reading this book. There are countless references back to his website, all designed to encourage you join his site...

5.0 out of 5 stars Tiger Woods Should Have Read This Book!, December 10, 2009

This review is from: Seeking Arrangement: The Definitive Guide to Sugar Daddy and Mutually Beneficial Arrangements (Paperback)
I am a college student, so that would make me a college sugar baby by the definitions of the book. After trying hard to find a sugar daddy only to encounter many losers who wanted a free ride, I decided it was time to get help from the pros. SeekingArrangement was a god sent in many ways, because the book and the website helped me understand what it means to be a sugar baby. (To be honest I have always struggled with the moral aspect of the sugar lifestyle, because I am conservative in upbringing, and am strongly opposed to gold digging!) But being a sugar baby isn't about being a gold digger! As a student, I wanted a boyfriend who will shower me with gifts, treat me like a princess, and of course take the financial stresses out of my life. And what's wrong with that?

The book has been a useful guide on how to be a sugar baby, and how to find the perfect sugar daddy. It's a tricky world out there, and so is sugar dating. My favorite section is the part where Brandon explains how one should negotiate the perfect arrangement. Tiger Woods should have read this book, and if he did, perhaps he would have known how to live the sugar lifestyle, be a better sugar daddy, and not jeopardize his reputation, marriage and family.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a crazy concept.... Love it., October 19, 2010

This review is from: Seeking Arrangement: The Definitive Guide to Sugar Daddy and Mutually Beneficial Arrangements (Paperback)
It's a crazy concept for sure, and for many hard to swallow. But the book was a good read, explaining arrangements from a historical and sociological perspective. Most of the materials are pretty much "common sense", but having been defrauded twice in my life by Internet scammers - one claiming to be a beautiful girl in Canada and another in Australia who swore she would come out to meet me, I think reading the "common sense" advice in the book once again is probably a must even for expert online daters like me. This is a book written by an intellect.... not a psychologist or a relationship expert. To be honest, I enjoyed this book, and I think you will too.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good introduction to a fun-filled lifestyle, September 4, 2010

This review is from: Seeking Arrangement: The Definitive Guide to Sugar Daddy and Mutually Beneficial Arrangements (Paperback)
Someone sitting next to me on my flight to London clued me in to the arrangement lifestyle. Since I'm single, I thought, why not give it a shot. I have been hooked to it since then having met more beautiful and smart women than I have ever met in my life. As a newbie, I'm glad there was a seeking arrangement community available to help me through some awkward questions: How does one negotiate an arrangement? How does one bring up the topic of sex or money, while still being a gentleman? How does one differentiate between a gold digger and a genuine sugar baby? How do you manage expectations? The book offers a good introduction to the topic, but I highly recommend the seeking arrangement blog where I received numerous practical embarrassment saving tips.

I'm all for the Sugar Daddy lifestyle, so my negative comments are only directed at the author and his book. The book is nothing more than a shameless attempt to promote his online website. You'd have to be living in a bubble if you learned anything new after reading this book. There are countless references back to his website, all designed to encourage you join his site and pay monthly fees. He even goes so far as to say that searching for the right arrangement could take a year or more, so you need to be patient. Oh, how clever!. I suffered through each excruciating chapter hoping there would be some glimmer of insight, something that I could use to justify the money I paid for the book, but nothing came of it. Save your money, there are no secrets to success in this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars You either love it or hate it... I LOVE IT!, August 31, 2010

Judging from the reviews - people giving the book a 5 star or 1 star rating, it is safe to say, you will either love this book or hate the concept it represents. I am also certain judging from the 1 star comments that most of these comments are from competitors of the author's website, and as such, should be taken with a big grain of salt.

First, a disclaimer: I am both a customer of the author's website, and also a frequent contributor to the author's blog ([...]).

The book is used wisely as a promotional took for the website, and while some think it is shameless, I say why not! If you have a great website and idea, and if your website has been covered by 20/20, the New York Times, and CNN packed with real customer testimonials, then you ought to be shameless about promoting it. It's the author's bragging rights and he earned it.

I have used the author's dating website for over a few years now, and I am still impressed with the quality of the members, the simplicity of the website, and with the advice given by his book. The book draws most of its content directly from the members, and from blog contributors like me, so it is also safe to say it is a collection of real experiences from real people.

The best testimonial I can give is that I continue to be a member of the author's site year after year. I highly recommend this book and so do all my friends who have read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than just a guide: an excellent book., November 9, 2009
This review is from: Seeking Arrangement: The Definitive Guide to Sugar Daddy and Mutually Beneficial Arrangements (Paperback)
I saw this book featured on the 20/20 piece about SeekingArrangement with John Stossil, and I must say it both shocked and intrigued me. I thought "before I actually delve into this sugar daddy dating world, why not read the book first" - I'm a workaholic and always do my homework, especially before investing in any lifestyle change.

Indeed, it's because I AM a workaholic that the mutually beneficial dating concept coined by SA intrigued me...
This book is way more than just the best ever "how to guide" to sugar daddy dating, but actually gives insight into why, or why not, making mutually beneficial arrangements is right for you.

This book deserves way more attention than it's getting - it is a comprehensive, genuine, all around guide and companion for anyone interested in non-traditional sugar daddy/sugar baby type relationships. I actually didn't know that I was stuck in a 'limerent' relationship for 2 years until reading the book, which, by the way, defines and classifies a variety of relationship types that many if not most of us have found ourselves in - whether we knew it or not.

Thanks to reading this book, I knew exactly what to look out for, what to expect, how to negotiate an arrangement, and how to be in-tune with what a potential sugar babies needs would be as well.

I found the "When the Sugar Sours" chapter especially useful for me - nothing lasts forever, and this upfront and honest approach to dating is compatible with that fact. I am glad to say that despite my initial fears, this book is not tinged with self-promotion or BS. If you're serious about becoming a 'sugar', this book is definitely worth buying, keeping, and sharing.

I was hoping this book would suggest some good approaches to writing to women on the site but it did not. All the suggested rules were just obvious things like, "Don't ask for nude pictures", "Don't be crude", et cetera. I believe it was written by someone involved with ownership of the site, so any advice would have to be "Taken with a grain of salt". I found nothing useful in this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Fishing Hold I Ever Fished In..., July 24, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Seeking Arrangement: The Definitive Guide to Sugar Daddy and Mutually Beneficial Arrangements (Paperback)
I purchased this book after reading about the dating website on the New York Times. At first, I thought it was just another one of those "how to marry a gold digger" kind of book, but to my surprise, the book presented strong arguments for why such relationships may work well for those who are tired of the disappointments of unmet expectations in regular drama-filled relationships.

After using the [...] or a while, it became clear to me why the book is an invaluable resource, with practical advice on how to navigate the tricky field of negotiating a mutually beneficial relationship, and avoiding the likely scammers and spammers that flock such venues. Despite the potential pitfalls as outlined by the book, the carrots for using such a dating website and for engaging in such a lifestyle is clear: For guys its about dating intelligent, gorgeous women of substance, and for girls, its about meeting men who know how to be a gentleman and how to treat women right.

Well written and humorous, Seeking Arrangement opened my eyes to a whole new way of looking at human relationships. The book and the dating website have significantly improved my social and dating life. I highly recommend it to anyone who is willing to keep an open mind.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a pactical, fun and funny book..., November 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Seeking Arrangement: The Definitive Guide to Sugar Daddy and Mutually Beneficial Arrangements (Paperback)
I don't necessarily think I'd subscribe to the idea of being with a very old sugar daddy, but the thought of being with a wealthy guy who is not only a gentleman, but a handsome 007 type certainly intrigues me. In the world of sugar dating, there are certainly many types of sugar daddies. While Hugh Hefner seems to occupy the airwaves, and the Millionaire Matchmaker is putting down generations of females by telling us that wealthy sugar daddy types are simply not attracted to girls with curly hair etc., I believe there is a much more practical side to sugar daddy dating... the one described by this book. I suppose if the author had his way, everyone should be sugar dating. Well, opinions aside, I think this book is packed with practical advice not found anywhere else, and the book is a blast to read. If you're not yet warm to the idea you deserve a sugar daddy, perhaps it is time you buy this book for yourself, or for your all your girlfriends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not for the stingy or slackers, but great for everyone else who loves it sweet!, November 6, 2009
By
This review is from: Seeking Arrangement: The Definitive Guide to Sugar Daddy and Mutually Beneficial Arrangements (Paperback)
Seeking Arrangement is a book and website that isn't for everyone! Every time the news features the website or the concept, angry comments often fill the blog-sphere with hate remarks from people who misunderstand the lifestyle. Comments such as "those girls are goal diggers", "useless book or website", "I can't believe people would use it" are common and often unfounded. And its not surprising since such comments are made by people who will never be able to enjoy the lifestyle as they are either too stingy, close-minded, or are just slackers who will never understand that us women want to be treated like princesses.

However, that said, the book offers great insights into the lifestyle that is now increasingly a mainstream trend. Besides the constant media attention about the sugar lifestyle from the likes of New York Times, 20/20, Dr. Phil and Tyra, even Mattel has entered the game by introducing "Sugar Daddy Ken"! Now every girl who has pinned her dreams of becoming Barbie can look forward to nabbing her own Sugar Daddy Ken! LOL ....

... except, the sugar lifestyle can be a tricky journey! If you've read recent news of a Doctor's arrest for solicitation on a Sugar Daddy website, or the countless scams one might encounter both on the Sugar Daddy or Sugar Baby side, you'd quickly understand that sugar is sweet, but only if you thread carefully.

Yes, I'd agree that Wade's book is an exercise at promoting his website, but it's also an outstanding book because it is compiled using real advice by real people who have experienced the lifestyle first-hand. In that sense, the book is a book written by sugars for those who want to be sugars. As a first time sugar baby, the book helped me stay clear of guys who pretend to be sugar daddies, and it ultimately helped me land the perfect man.

This is not "the Mystery Method", how to be a "Pickup Artist", or about how you can get beautiful women to sleep with you by putting them down emotionally. Such methods only work on girls who have a low-self esteem. This book is about how self confident, beautiful women like myself deserves to be princesses, and it is a book about how to we can find our own Sugar Daddy Ken - yes, men who understand how to be gentlemen.

Don't judge this book by its cover. It's worth every penny and a whole lot more. ;)
