5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating glimpse into social issues of 70s and 80s, August 25, 2010
This review is from: Seeking the Sense of the Meeting: A History of Friends Meeting of Washington (Paperback)
This thoughtful and engaging compilation of essays and historical records from the 70s and 80s gives a fresh view of the social issues (Vietnam, homelessness, gay rights and many others) from these two decades. Some of these issues continue to be argued on a national level today, but this is a local and personal account of the impact of these grand arguments on individuals and this congregation. This book will be interesting to anyone in or outside of the church that lived through this era, or to those still involved in the social changes the Quakers helped bring about.
