4.0 out of 5 stars The Definitive Reference for this Subject, December 28, 2008
By
bhaladog (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Seepage, Drainage, and Flow Nets (Wiley Classics in Ecology and Environmental Science) (Paperback)
There is no doubt that this is the definitive reference on seepage and drainage through soils for engineering purposes. It's good to see it back in print, since it was long out-of-print and available only on the secondary market. Even then, it was one that serious geo-professionals would track down.

This book is probably best as a reference for the practicing geotechnical engineer or engineering hydrogeologist. To really understand it, mastery of hydraulics and soil mechanics is required, and some knowledge of hydrology and hydrogeology is helpful. Concepts are thoroughly explained, and the educated user will find few subjects lacking when he pulls this one off the shelf to consult.
