This book was so much more than I expected. I didn't think it would be bad, of course, but I never expected the connection between two characters to be sizzling off the pages. Seers of Light is about a young woman, Lillian, who has always struggled with her sense of reality. Things that seem impossible keep coming to her through dreams and visions. She wonders what could be wrong with her and why this is happening now.

One encounter is too real to be a dream and she discovers that she may have more of a purpose than she thought. The first person she meets is Christian who tries to give her only the information that is needed in order to keep her safe. He takes her away from her life in order to guarantee more safety from the creatures now aware of her existence. Lily has so many questions but she is forced to wait till she gets to her new home in order to find out what is going on.

Immediately Lily is surrounded by friendly people who know exactly what she is going through. She slowly pieces together the strange puzzle of her life and begins learning how to deal with her powers. Part of that process includes learning how to protect herself and that brings in William Maddox. Ohhh, William. How I love thee! *mind wonders* .....hmm..oh yeah, anyway, William. He is not like the others because of one major difference. He is essentially the enemy. He's a vampire and Christian refuses to let anyone forget that fact. They have many disagreements and with Lily in the mix, those heat up.

Christian seems like the perfect choice for Lily but something about William makes her heart race. His hotness, maybe? But their chemistry is incredible! Wow!

Seers of Light is the story of Lily Hunt, a 20-something woman who has always had strange dreams and such but never realized there was some alternate world of which she was a part. Soon she's living with others just like herself, "Seers" who have amazing abilities but who are constantly at battle with the evil that wants to destroy them.

The adventure aspect of the book keeps readers guessing, but there's also a budding romance which develops nicely and includes barriers that must be overcome if love is to succeed. Great story from start to finish.

A friend loaned me this book and immediately after finishing it I bought my own copy and read it again! I loved this book. It had a little bit of everything: adventure, romance and terror. Jennifer Delucey is an amazing and talented story teller. She creates a world full of characters that you just can't get enough of. Her second book Whisperer of Light is another favorite. I can't wait for her third book! I hope in the next one she brings Lily, William, Nicole and Christian together.

'Seers of Light' is a wonderfully charming novel about a young woman who is taken from her normal life and is suddenly brought into a world that she always thought may have existed, but never had proof. Now she's trying to avoid being killed while figuring out who she really is and what she's capable of - not to mention the two guys who are willing to die in order to protect her.

I thought that this story was very well written and had a great flow. I found myself intrigued from the very beginning of the story and couldn't stop reading until the last sentence. The setting that the book is set in was a perfect choice for the story - it added the right amount of fantasy and supernatural aspects to make the story feel more ominous and magical. The characters were interesting and had many facets to them, which I found made me more involved in the novel and eager to see their outcomes.

This was a great first novel in the series and will have readers eagerly coming back for the next book in the series.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Jennifer DeLucy's Seers of Light is a journey of love, hope, and courage. The story follows Lily, a pathcrosser and empath, who is saved by Christian from a vampire attack. After a brief explanation from Christian, he takes her to Georgia to Abram and the other endowed people. There she discovers who she really is and her destiny, to battle evil spirits and beings. She trains with William, the vampire with a soul. Before their first training session Lily decides to hate him for what he is not who. He expects and puts up with her attitude stating that she can hate him all she wants just as long as she learns what she needs to survive. As the training sessions continue, she starts to see the humanity in William. Christian, seeing that Lily is being less hostile with William, becomes very clingy, even though they are not dating. He starts to follow her around like a "golden retriever." When a coven of vampires located near her hometown starts to threaten Lily's new happy life, she along with her new family, must defeat them, or die trying.
All the characters in Seers of Light were real. I found I had a lot in common with Lily. Although, I don't think I'm quite as stubborn as she is. After spending most of her life seeing spirits and being empathetic, Lily is more than happy to go where she is accepted and even admired for her abilities. She is very kind, but also judgmental and a bit gullible. Her love interest in the story is William Maddox. I could talk about William for the rest of my life. In fact, I've reread Seers of Light so many times that I've actually lost count, all because of William. Even after reading it X amount of times I still feel my heart beat erratically whenever he walks in the room, or speaks, or is brought up in the conversation.
