The RPG elements are okay, but I would prefer straight action-adventure sonic traditionalist format. Otherwise it's a great game. Would have been nice if they sharpened up some of the camera angles and polygons, but it does have a bygone charm to it.

    Great game, sorta bad controls....
I played it before on my Xbox 360 but deleted it, after playing Sonic Adventure 2 with my brother I thought I'll go back to beginning on my PC.

This game is really fun. this game takes a while to download however. I reccomend plugging your computer in through ethernet if your computer supports it. Through ethernet it took about 15 minutes for me. I have a few problems however. In the game, the camera angles can get really messed up. when you actually have the game, you are stuck with the standard keyboard controls. It would be nice if it allowed you to connect an external controller for it. Finally, the game is stuck with a certain window size. If you have a big monitor though, this won't be a problem.

I would recommend this product to anyone who has a love for Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast. The Chao world is amazing and it offers so much more entertainment than other platforms. I have been searching for a game of this calibre for years and I have no regrets on my purchase. This is a prime product and as I said before if you love Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast this will be a delightful gift to you.

From what I have played of the game it is amazing, as long as you are not graphic oriented. But there are some serious installation issues, since it will only upload instead of finish installing the game. The game is available for gamecube, and you can find it on x-box 360 for a decent price if you are looking for it.

Sonic Adventure DX is all kinds of horrible. No full screen mode even after I select full screen in the configuration. It maxes out at 1024 x 720 resolution, which is fine since it's a Dreamcast game. The camera is shockingly bad. Like, seriously. It's bad. It moves all over on its own. It doesn't move with Sonic. The right analogue stick can move it a little, but seemingly only when stationary and then it switches you to first person but when you pan it doesn't float into a natural first person perspective. I felt a little motion sickness, so I threw in the towel. The controls aren't great either, but I think that's mostly because they're fighting against the camera all the time. It's just an awful game. Maybe it's just a bad port. I never played on Dreamcast.

The game is great, just like it was on the Dreamcast. However, when it was re-released for the Gamecube, they improved the graphics quite well, but not well enough to match Sonic Adventure 2, and the Chao-raising system was improved significantly too. They added more "missions" and on the Gamecube, there were classic sonic unlockables you could play after you gained a certain number of emblems. That was about it.

Now, this version on the PC is EXACTLY how it was on the Gamecube, except the classic games are MISSING COMPLETELY (Unless I'm too horrible at the game to unlock them, but at over 70/130 emblems, I should have at least one by now). Not only that, the game runs on a client that CAN'T be re-sized, CAN'T go full screen, and DOESN'T let you change the controls. Speaking of which, trying to control Sonic and well, all of the characters except maybe Big, is a complete nightmare. To move, you have to use the arrow keys, resulting in a limiting 8-direction run. This is a game that is fast-paced and requires precise controlling, so using the keyboard just feels absurd, and it makes the game ridiculously difficult, most notably on Sonic's last few levels.

Aside from the client, there are still countless problems within the game that still remain unfixed. First, the people you see walking around town and around the ruins are AWFUL LOOKING, worse even than a low-end Nintendo 64 game. You would think after so many years that were available to improve this, it would have been done, but no. They look so hideous, they clash with the feel and the complexity of the rest of the landscape, which in contrast, looks great for the most part. Why they overlooked updating the people's graphics but beautified the landscapes is beyond me.
