Product Description

The hunt for a serial killer has never been so terrifyingly real.

What twists the mind of an ordinary human into a serial killer? Assigned to the Serial Crimes division Agent Ethan Thomas must answer this question and bring the worst of society to justice. His solve rate is the best in the bureau... perhaps too good.

While investigating the growing list of serial killers Agent Thomas concludes that something is twisting the bodies and souls of those that society has left behind. The homeless addicted and deranged are rising from the city's underbelly and committing mindless acts of violence. Could there be an unseen connection between the increasing brutality of the latest serial killings and the increasing crime rate? This question is pushed to the forefront after Agent Thomas is framed for the murder of two police officers. Now he must solve the murders to stop the killings and exonerate himself from the crimes of which he is accused. As FBI agent Ethan Thomas you rely on sharp instincts and sophisticated forensic tools to investigate crime scenes, collect evidence, and find clues that will lead you to the killers. With danger lurking in every shadow you need whatever weapons you can find to stay alive. If you run out of bullets you will have to fight with a fire axe, shovel, pipe, two-by-four, or whatever you can pry from the environment around you. You will need to make sure nothing stops you as you try to uncover exactly who...or what is behind the grisly killings plaguing the city.

Overlooked due to not being a "first-person shooter" at the time of its release (as an XBOX 360 launch vehicle), "Condemned" is unequivocally, in my humble opinion, the best horror game of all time. Unfortunately, it was deemed "boring" by many a folk expecting something on the level of Call of Duty; this game is its very antithesis, in every possible aspect...and that's a fantastic thing. Unwilling to appreciate the game for what it was--an unbelievably atmospheric, intentionally slow-paced, genuinely chilling horror game of the highest quality--gamers simply put it aside to focus on Call of Duty 2--also a great game, but simply not as worthy of time and attention as Condemned. This game will literally make you jump out of your seat...it's terrifying, assuming you set gamma properly (unfortunately, a reference isn't provided, which is simply idiotic given that the game depends on darkness for success) and play it in a dark room (with headphones; the game supports only two-channel sound, unfortunately); unlike many games that try to scare, but fail (Dead Space, great though it may be, comes to mind), this game will surprise you, even if you consider yourself unable to be frightened (I laugh at most 'horror' films...even those that aren't supposed to be funny on some level).

Further, the game is also jam-packed with awesome hand-to-hand combat like you've never experienced in a game before. Sure, there are guns...but--and this is a first, to my knowledge--ammunition is limited! Limited, you say? Yes...unfortunately (actually quite fortunately, from my perspective), throughout most of the game, you'll have little choice but to brutalize the sadistic scum (do we care who they are or what their crimes were...?

Very cheap game and the gameplay is simple and fun, well worth it. One annoying bit is that you have to watch all the cut scenes. Definitely make sure to save often.

It is one of the best mystery/horror games i have played. I love the theme/option music. I am amazed how games such as these are easily overlooked and underrated in the storm of other famed games like COD. But its' worth playing game.
