4.0 out of 5 stars I love the controller, but i still have some questions
I love this controller. The buttons are all easy to reach. It only takes a split second to switch from the d-pad to the joystick. The triggers are at just the right spot, easy to use but hard to accidently hit. The start button is just a little hard to reach, but when you push the start button you usually intend to sit the controller down anyways. The problem is...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Control with a couple limitations
I must start off by saying that this controller is aesthetically a GREAT design. I think that it services great purpose and the window is nice too. I also like the interesting looking buttons. they go well with the cool Dreamcast design. I must state the bad things about this control which really brings it down.

1. The chord is in the back of the controller because of...

The problem is the cord comes out of the bottom, not the top. This feels very akward to me. I am aware that there is the little notch to put the cord in, but why put it there when it would have been just as easy to put the cord where the notch is. But, the 2 easy to use slots for a memory card and a jump pack at the same time is great. This controller is light, durable, and easy to use. As for extra controllers, you only need to buy one, if any. I have yet to find a game that is compatible for more that 2 players. But overall, the controller has to be the best yet.

4.0 out of 5 stars comfortable, January 16, 2000

this controller is the most comfortable controller ever to hit the market. it allows for longer gameplay hours than sony's dual shock or nintendo's 3 pronged controller. the only problem is the lack of buttons, 4 just isnt enough, and can cause problems with game development in the future. game developers claim that the dual shock and even nintendo64's controller dont have enough buttons, and nintendo's have the most buttons out of any home gaming system, with 9 total. this gripe could be that only 8 are easily accesable. Sega already has the best controller ever, and if they remake it with at least 2 more well-placed button, it would be perfect.

I think the Sega Controller works great. It's pretty comfortable and lightweight. At first, it took a little getting used to, but that's like anything. The only thing I don't like is the hyper-sensitivity of the analog stick. But to be fair, the analog sticks on all of the others (PSX, N64) are also pretty sensitive.

5.0 out of 5 stars DreamCast Controller, November 29, 1999

I must admit, when I first saw the DreamCast controller I thought it looked a little akward. However, it's turned out to be the best console controller I've used. After a little bit of getting used to, it fits my hands perfectly (although it may be a little large for the younger kids). Personally, I dislike the Sony Playstation controller in comparison, so maybe it's just me.

This controller is very ingenius! It fits in your hand perfectly and works well. I will admit that it is not the best controller for the Fighting Game fanatic, but every other game works wonderfully with it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Controller, April 29, 2002
This review is from: Sega Dreamcast Controller (Video Game)
I have always been into video games. I was looking forward to buying one of the new systems when one night my mom came home and on the table she put down two controllers, two games, and two memory cards. I asked her why she bought all that stuff and she told me that she got it for an amazingly low price. She thought that it would be a great gift for someone that had the console. Then she allowed me to take one controller out of the box and hold it. I was stunned by how comfortable it was. So then I looked at the box and it said "for use with the SEGA Dreamcast" on it. So then I started to wonder if the Dreamcast is good. after doing some research I decided that the Dreamcast was very cheap but well worth the money. So I decided to get a Dreamcast instead of one of the new systems and I save a couple of hundred bucks.

Now let's take a closer look at the controller.
When you first look at the controller it might seem like the weirdest thing ever. IN A GOOD WAY! When you pick it up and grab it it feels perfect. It does not only feel perfect, but it is perfect. To this day I have not found a single flaw with the controller. The buttons are perfectly positioned. The controller is simple and yet not too simple. Unlike the PS2 controller! The analog thumb pad is in the right spot and so are the analog thumb triggers. On the bottom of the controller is a little slot that you can stick the cable in so it is not in the way. The controller also has two slots in the bach fer a visual memory unit and a jump pack. In the front of the controller is a hole so you can see the screen of the VMU, which displays graphics according to whatever game you are playing. The plug fits easily into the controller port. Like I already said that this is a very good deal. You should get a couple of extras before they are all sold out.

Overall this is the best controller I have ever used.
If my mom wouldn't have gotten this controller then I propabply wouldn't have a Dreamcast and I wouldn't have written this review.
I hope that this helped you out!

Dreamcast so far has built the best controller so far. I'll give you the many reasons why it's my top pick.
-most durable, drop it and it still works!
-triggers on both sides for extra control
-small enough to reach all buttons at once
-one large start button
-fits in hand perfectly
-design looks awesome
-put vmu's in there so you can watch pictures during a game
-put jump pack in there so it's optionial to have rumbles during a game
-two slots to put vmus, memory cards, jump packs
Buy it! Awesome price for an awesome controller!

5.0 out of 5 stars Arcade Meets N64 Style Controller!, January 11, 2001
By
"bustidtv" (Houston, TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sega Dreamcast Controller (Video Game)
This is without a doubt the BEST controller around! All of the buttons are basically right there under each of your fingers when you put your hands around the perfect-fitting handles. The seam is tight, and so are all of the buttons, so you don't feel like your going to break it while holding it, like you do with the Playstation controller. On each button, there is a small raise (like on the 'F' and 'J' of most keyboards) which lets you feel the button without having to look down at the controller. There is also the great feature of the 2 slots at the top which lets you insert a VMU and JumpPack. Even better is how there is a small cutout square where the VMU's LCD screen would be, this way you can see what's happening on the VMU while playing. With this screen, (While a VMU is plugged in) you can see secrets in games, when your saving, and much more! The only flaw this controller has is how the cord comes out of the bottom, which is quite akward, and it is hard to adjust the way your sitting as to not kick the cord and pull it out while playing. This controller is far greater than anything Playstation (1 & 2) or N64 has and is way more confortable. If you have 2 or more people that will be playing Dreamcast, this extra controller is a MUST.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Controller Ever, October 3, 1999

It is the most comfortable controller that you will ever hold. It fits right into most hands (ages 6+) and makes the control in games much better. The screen for the VMU is ingenious, and works great on NFL2K. For fighting games like Street Fighter or Marvel vs. Capcom an arcade stick might be better, but Soul Calibur works great. If you have a Dreamcast, buy at least one extra.
