I'm sorry folks, but this isn't the product to buy this Christmas. I purchased one and gave it a whirl. I'm sorry folks, but this isn't the product to buy this Christmas. I purchased one and gave it a whirl. I could barely, just barely, feel a slight stiring sensation with games like House of the Dead 2, and Soul Calibur (sort of like a small misquito landed on my controller[I might be exagerating a little here]). And I was entirely disapointed with its preformance with Sonic Adventure. I couldn't feel anything! Just to make sure it wasn't a faulty Jump Pack, I returned it for another. I tried that one, and the same results plagued me. Man almighty am I frustrated with this product. And as a side note, HOTD2, Soul Calibur, and Sonic all claim to be Jump Pack compatible. So please don't make the same mistake as myself. Buy a VMU or save up for a great game like Soul Calibur or Sonic Adventure(still fun without use of the Jump Pack). So Sega, if you by any chance read this e-mail, please do not be offended. You have quality products (I own a Genesis, GameGear, Dreamcast w/ 4 games), but the Jump Pack is not one of them. Anyone, especially Sega of America, is free to E-mail me to discuss the Jump Pack. Thanks for your time.

2.0 out of 5 stars go with the tremor pack, November 26, 1999

If you're looking for a rumbling accesory, Interact's Tremor Pack is the way to go. At half the price of Sega's pack, it also rumbles very strongly, and IGN ranked it best out of the three available rumbling accesories.

Despite some bad reviews here and elsewhere, I went ahead and bought a couple of Sega Jump Packs. The units I got are made in Japan and are nicely constructed; much better than the third-party alternatives. They slide effortlessly into the controller slot and lock-in reassuringly, providing noiseless vibration. I really don't know why other people complain about weak vibration from these packs. In my opinion, any more vibration from these guys would be too much! Some initial weak vibration might be due to lubricants getting sticky upon storage. I have noticed some people talking about "warming-up" their jump packs before getting good feedback. Mine were indeed a little shy for the first few turns of the motor inside, but a few helicopter jumps in Rayman 2 got them quickly up to speed. Overall I am very happy with the Sega Jump Packs: they are well-made, provide more than enough vibration without becoming tiresome, and really make games more intersting.

2.0 out of 5 stars Buy the INTERACT TREMOR PAK is BETTER, January 24, 2000

I have played with the Two of them, the INTERCT TREMOR PAK is much better that SEGA's Name brand... with this one you don't feel the hits in NFL Y2K... but with the other brand INTERACT.. wow!.. you can even feel it when the player is running..

so don't buy SEGA.. but INTERACT.. for $9.99, here in this place..

2.0 out of 5 stars Weak, February 24, 2000

It's hard for me to understand how a first-party peripheral can be this weak. The official Dreamcast Jump Pack works properly, don't get me wrong, but the feedback is considerably weak when compared to the Interact TremorPak and the Mad Catz Force Pack. Both of the latter can be purchased for half the price of Sega's, and both offer more intense vibration. Save your money and go for the third-party packs this time around.

I bought the Sega Jump Pack shortly after I received the console for Christmas. It works great, but can be annoying with games like Rayman 2, when the helicopter buzzes constantly. But for explosions and hits on the other Dreamcast games, it adds more effect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Force feedback really enhances your gaming experiance!, October 19, 1999
By A Customer
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars

The Sega Dreamcast Jump Pack plugs into the second port on yourcontroller. What it does is provide a vibration, or rumble feeling inyour hands while holding your controller. The Jump Pack really enhances most games. For example, if an explosion takes place in the game, then you will feel the force feedback in your controller. It can feel like your actually taking part in the game.

I recomend buying the Sega Jump Pack. If you purchase a Sega Dreamcast, a Sega Jump Pack is a must. END

4.0 out of 5 stars Its ok., December 30, 2000
This review is from: Sega Dreamcast Jumpack (Video Game)
Well, it really depends what games you play with the Jump pack. it barely rumbles with Soul Calibur and sonic, but you can play Tony hawk or something else. The only real rumbling i feal is when i play a game where something werid happens and it "Jumps" out of my hands.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun but NOT for Long Hours of Playing, April 23, 2000

This accessory if very fun to have. Some games let you control the "rumbles", like Hydro Thunder. The Jump Pack add to the horror theme of Code Veronica. It can even fit into the Dreamcast guns. However, I can't recommend using this thing for long hours of playing. My hands would ache. My fingers would go numb. Plus, this accessory add signifigant weight to the controller pad. Use with caution.
