This Sega Dreamcast Keyboard makes the old way of browsing the web through the Sega Dreamcast with the "virtual keyboard" obsolete. This keyboard makes it much easier to send e-mail, type in URLs, or even chat with some friends online. Many helpful features have been added with this Sega Dreamcast Keyboard. Along with the standard look of keyboards many special keys have been added that allow you to type in commonly used "web words" such as www.,.com,http://, and many others. I highly reccomend this Sega Dreamcast Keyboard if you plan to go online with your Sega Dreamcast as it makes it a much more exciting and quicker experience.

First, I must say that the keyboard works great for the Dreamcast browser. Without it, you are stuck picking letters from a digital keyboard. BUT, it is frustrating that you can't move around and navigate with the keyboard. You are forced to pickup the controller to move somewhere, then put it down and pick up the keyboard to enter something text related. Yes, you do something similar to this with a mouse on a computer, but it seems to work better. I wish they would have taken a clue from notebook computers and added an integrated pointer into the keyboard.

This keyboard has made surfing the web a blast! It has the same features as a regular keyboard making this keyboard nothing new to bother learning how to use. It has also made surfing the web ten times quicker!

OK, so in case you didn't know, without buying a keyboard adapter, this is the only way to interface with your Dreamcast while it is running Linux. That's right, I said LINUX on your dreamcast. And yes, it saves a bunch of time if you are using the web browser. It sounds like a lot of you aren't using your dreamcast to it's full potential. If you have:
1. An internet connection
2. A CD burner
3. Nero or DiscJuggler
4. Some basic computer knowhow, and an ability to follow instructions...
You can do almost anything with your dreamcast, including running Emulators & Roms, installing an Operating System, Playing MP3's and DIVX

If you use the Planetweb web browser that is included with the dreamcast console system this accessory is a must have! The keyboard has the same layout as your computer keyboard and will speed your web browsing up significantly. Have using the dreamcast keyboard you will never want to go back to using the virtual keyboard.

This Keyboard is a MUST HAVE in some cases. It has all the buttons you would find in a regular keyboard and some specially added in ones. Infact i'm writing this on my keyboard, using the CHU CHU ROCKET internet. You should only buy this keyboard if you have CHU CHU ROCKET because it has a better internet with Flash3 and and excellent internet game room where you play against other people around the world. The second reason is that if you chat a lot on the dreamcast browser, this is a must have.It makes your life a whole lot easier. Finnally the last reason is that you are really tired of the dreamcast controller keyboard and is tired of moveing the arow to the letters. Overall this is a must have for all the reasons above.

The Dreamcast keyboard is a great periferal. If you are thinking about using your Dreamcast to go online, Or send email from your dreamcast, Then you NEED this keyboard.

Also if you plan on playing Chu Chu Rocket online you really need it. I tried to play Chu Chu Rocket online without it and It was extremely hard to talk to people and form an online game typing with the SLOW onscreen keyboard.

If you plan on playing any of the upcoming online games like Quake 3, NFL 2K1 ect. you also need the keyboard. As talking in the gaming chat rooms is a key part of forming online games with other people, And you just can't do that with the SLOW onscreen keyboard...

Those of you who said that the keyboard was pointless, I whole-heartedly DISAGREE. It is the only thing that makes surfing on the net on DC easy! Are you sick of that little keyboard menu popping up on the screen and having to push every single button with the joystick? This will make that problem vanish forever. The Sega Keyboard may not be some big flashy thing with gold plated buttons and a built in scrolling menu at the top and a Cyrax chip in it , but hey, that's not what it's for. You cannot live without it. IT IS DA' BOMB!

If you have purchased the Keyboroard or are planning to i highly recommend it for online gaming, it works for other games also, for instance off the top of my head i know the dreamcast is good for all you gamesharkers out there, because many games require a keyboard for codes or other hacks to the games. Internet Navigating is far more easier to do, the only problem is switching back and forth between the Dreamcast controller and the Keyboard. The keyboard in definately worth the time and effort to find and to buy.

This is a MUST HAVE for any online play using the dreamcast! It makes entering your isp info so much easier! Games are also so much more fun being able to chat with your freinds/enemies during gameplay! It is worth its pricetag!
