Well I dusted off the old Dreamcast and found this game for cheap. After playing it for a day or so I decide to track down he Cha CHa Maracas and give it a go the way it was designed to be played. Considering the dreamcast came out in 1999 and you cant tell a difference between this and the new WII version is a testament to the consoles power. That thing is a classic that died way before its time.... : (
Now as for the Maracas they are great. They light up when you shake and after a quick in game calibration they are more responsive than any other systems Maracas. Not only that they work are real Maracas too. Now this might be an issue if you are paying after the wife of the baby is asleep. Over all I would give construction a 9 out of 10 and the over all package with game and maracas a 20 out of 10.... Its just great fun... And now its not $165.00 like it was when it was released.

I've had this for years and it truly is a fun game to play. We play it on new years eve, turn up the stereo, and shake away. It's good because you can play at a slow, medium, or fast level so it's for all talent ranges (and ages). I definitely recommend this game. The Wii is great, but it's not like holding a maraca in your hand.

I'm sure years ago when the dreamcast was still big Samba de amigo was considered a really "fun" game before the nintendo wii came out and other virtual reality games like DDR existed.. But now? It's really not worth the money.. these maracas cost me quite a bit of money and I'm having difficulty setting them up to my TV so that I can actually USE them. These maracas also hurt your hands very badly, it's painful.
