5.0 out of 5 stars Great Stuff November 19, 2012
Verified Purchase
Works fine in Win7. Gamepad is pretty much essential to really enjoy these. Hdmi into TV, sit back and play.
Half the games are bleeugh but the other half are classics. Worth admission alone for Shining in the Darkness. The action games are very dated and to be honest didn7t play that well back then but the RPG and platformers are still great.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a gimmie November 18, 2012
If you are in anyway interested in the last two packs of this set, buy this collection as it costs less than the two of them combined. The first four sets are kinda fun to have for legacy to see the rich history of SEGA and where they will probably never get to touch again. The last two sets are filled with classics that must be played by anyone. Despite no Sonic games to be seen, this is still an incredible deal!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Value for the Best of an Era May 29, 2013

Got this when it was on sale. For anyone wondering, this collection is easily worth $40, but for less than $10 the purchase shouldn't require much thought.
Games play flawlessly, and if you have a fast enough PC, they play even better than the originals. I bought to relive a few Genesis classics and some I had never played before. I didn't regret it, and I don't think you will either.
I'm playing on an original Saturn to USB controller. I've instantly turned my laptop into a portable Genesis with this collection.

3.0 out of 5 stars Blast from the past March 26, 2013
Verified Purchase
I bought this product when it was on sale for $7.49. it was worth it for 50 games. Playing most of the games i grew up on make me remember all the fun i had playing on my Genesis when i was kid but that beside the point.

ok here the good:
Download was a breeze. it only me 25 - 30 minutes to download and install
The main menu is easy to use
You can save your game. games like street of rage and golden axe you can play and save

ok here the bad
Instead of downloading all 50 games at once. you have to download 10 games at a time
Some of the games you will need a controller. believe me playing eternal champion and landstalker on the keyborad is a ......
The Sega Genesis Classic game pack cost $37.49

ok here the ugly
No Sonic The Hegdehog games. no 1,2,3 , or Sonic and Knuckles not even Sonic 3D Blast shoot i been glad for Sonic spinball. you can't have a Sega Genesis classic collection without sonic

ok now you have the good, the bad, and the ugly i hope this opinion/ review help you out. ( please forgive me my poor grammer)

3.0 out of 5 stars Five Stars for the games, one star for the crashes November 21, 2012
By Carl
Verified Purchase
The quality of the games in this pack is without question if you were a fan of Sega back in the day, if lacking Sonic games, which Sega is obviously holding out on. However, the crashes are problematic. In about one hour of gameplay, across a couple of sessions, I have experienced crashes:

1. When going from fullscreen to windowed mode
2. When performing a quicksave
3. When exiting the program

Once the game crashes, you will need to go into the program manager to close it out. The experience has been very frustrating.

Love this set, playable with a logitech gaming controller via settings menu, replaces all of the console versions I never knew I didn't need. Why stop at 50?

3.0 out of 5 stars We've come a long way... January 18, 2013
Verified Purchase
I've been playing video games since the late 70s. The Sega games were from late 80s to early 90s.

I'm now playing games like Battlefield 3 on a PC I built with an Intel 6-core 3930K and two GTX 680s and realizing how far we've come in gaming.

I saw the Sega games for sale and thought how cool it would be for the kids to see what things were like twenty years ago in gaming. I wanted to purchase them for my family to play on my dual-core i3 sandy-bridge laptop with on die Intel graphics. They run great and offer a variety of games on the simplest of laptops.

They're still great games for the most part, though most finger-swipe games on a phone are more complex these days. Still great games and a blast from the past.

It's more fun to play these with a game controller connected than having to use the keyboard. I would definitely recommend it.
