Sega Genesis was an revolutionary 16-bit video game console back in the early 1990s. It was my very first video game system that I have ever played. This controller brings all the greatest games into one place. It includes, Sonic The Hedgehog, Golden Axe, Flicky, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Altered Beast, and Kid Chameleon. If you want to relive the old days of playing a Sega Genesis, then buy this!

What can I say? Little collection boxes like these are fun to travel with and can cure hours of boredom in hotels where TV is the only alternative. If you have a motorhome and don't want to jostle your desktop computer or PS3 around, take one of these. There are plenty of variants to the concept, and I've stuffed a few into a generic compartmentalized silver case, along with an AV switch. All I have to do is hook the switch up to a TV and power on any desired components (sometimes without even taking them out). Sure, you could use a laptop, but somehow PC's take the fun (and more often than not, legality) out of 8/16-bit console gaming.

On the other hand, if you're into it for a library of games, you're better off with value releases like Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, or being a good collector and buying the systems/games proper with all the boxes and manuals you can get your grubby gamer hands on.

Given the impact the classic Sega Genesis console has left behind, there would undoubtedly be a lot of clone consoles and game collections feeling the need to follow up to it by providing a selection of games, whether it be with Sonic slapped onto it or a little bit of well-known titles being sandwiched between various obscurities.

This Plug 'n Play is mainly straightforward stuff. It's simply a 6-in-1 with a Genesis-style controller and a little box (Whose look resembles a Genesis console. Cute) you plug right into the TV. The games inside are the original Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe, Altered Beast, Kid Chameleon, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, and Flicky. I've reviewed these games already (except for Altered Beast, I think), so I don't feel like I should go into a deep analysis for each game.

What I WILL say, though, is that the value here is completely nullified to DEATH. Since this thing's release, AT Games has created a bunch of clone consoles that not only contain a TON of built-in Genesis games, but they also have cartridge slots in case if you have Genesis cartridges! Heck, some of those clones are HANDHELD SYSTEMS, and they still plug into the TV! And even without these in the equation, we still have a generous amount of game collections readily available for all sorts of mainstream video game systems! Or maybe you can even just buy an actual Sega Genesis!
