A Great Sequel., February 1, 2002
The sequel to the Japan only Sonic Drift is more fun than Mario Kart (it beats all of the mario karts!) This is a racing game kind of like sonic R but EVERYONE is in cars. A little hard to get used to at first but is sure to delight, despite how old it is.

Sonic speed!, October 2, 2005
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This Game Gear game was the sequel to the Japan-only release Sonic Drift, and like most sequels, this one was bigger, better, and more challenging. It is similar to Sonic Racing, only now everyone has their own race car, and Nack the weasel has appeared as one of the racers. You have the option of choosing the racers, or letting the game choose for you.
Listed below is each character with his or her own unique vehicle, special ability, and how many rings are required.
Heroes:
Sonic--Power "Sneakar"--Speed--2 rings
Tails--Whirlwind 67--Jumping--2 rings
Knuckles--Jeep--Jumping--2 rings
Amy-Breeze--Kissing--2 rings
Villians:
Dr. Eggman--Egg Typhoon--Throwing traps--2 rings
Metal Sonic--Rocket Car--Speed--3 Rings
Nack-Hover Bike--Throwing coconuts--2 rings
This game also has 3 levels of difficulty (Purple-easy, White-medium, Blue-hard) and features courses from the Genesis Sonic 2, plus a few new courses as well.
To play the final GP, place first in all of the blue courses. If you play as one of the heroes, you will face Dr. Eggman. If you play as one of the villians, you will face Sonic. If you win the race, you will see the credits.
Overall, 5 stars. A must-play Game Gear game for racing fans and Sonic fans alike.

Not Bad, Much Better Than Sonic Drift, July 4, 2009
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I'm sure everybody knows that Sonic Drift was only sold in Japan, but not Sonic Drift 2. Sonic Drift was exclusive to Sonic Mega Collection Plus, while you can freely buy Sonic Drift 2 on Amazon or find it in Sonic Gems Collection. Sonic Drift 2 is a great sequel, I especially like the Mystic Cave course, where you can fall off the edges if you're not careful. Most of the courses are based on zones from Sonic 2 (Emerald Hill, Mystic Cave, Death Egg, Casino Night, Hill Top) which takes place on Westside Island, and there's even Ice Cap from Sonic 3, which takes place on Angel Island. Choose from Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Fang, Eggman, and Metal Sonic and race to the finish to claim first place. If you're looking to buy a good racing game for your Game Gear, get Sonic Drift 2. It even has two-player mode, where you can play with a friend on the go. The graphics haven't improved, but everything isn't about the graphics. 2-player mode also keeps track of wins and losses. I'm not sure if they do that in Sonic Drift, since I haven't played it much, but either way, it's a cool feature. The roster has also been expanded, now including Knuckles, Metal Sonic, and Fang the Sniper (Nack the Weasel in the Archie comic books). Metal Sonic and Fang have to be the coolest villains (other than Bark, Bean, and Tails Doll) in Sonic history, so that's a plus. Sonic Drift 2 is a good Game Gear game, I recommend it for any Game Gear collection.
