Sega's Arcade Rally Gem Comes to GBA, March 28, 2003
This review is from: Sega Rally Championship (Video Game)
The first game I bought for my GBA was GT Advanced 2: Rally Racing. It's a great game and I give it a lot of props but after purchasing Sega Rally Championship, I have a new favorite rally title. At first glance, you will notice that there is an actual 3D landscape throughout the game, unlike in GT Advanced 2: Rally Racing, whose oddball barriers sent your car spinning in an untrue fashion. Another nice feature is that, just like in all Sega Rally incarnations, the co-drive calls the turns well in advance, just like "real rally racing." But seeing as though some of the tracks from the original title are still there, I found a welcomed familiarity. There are more cars then the original title and some new challenging tracks. The ability to post your times against real world opponents, via [the sega rally website] , is an added bonus and adds a great deal of replay value as you are constantly eyeing for the number one spot on the list. The RC Rally is fun to play and also allows you to gain money to purchase more cars, tracks and other goodies. The physics are pretty nice for a handheld game system. Colliding with objects differs little from its Saturn and Dreamcast, counterparts and power slides aren't nearly as spectacular. The only noticeable faults are some incidences of draw-in, somewhat choppy graphics and the close up shot, in replay view, which makes the car look like it's driving sideways. But get past those little glitches and you have a great arcade style rally racer.

A Total Bore, December 16, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Sega Rally Championship (Video Game)
As a fan of old AND new school games I have an appreciation for a lot of games that other people find borring. Having said that, I have to say this game is a total bore after about 5 minutes. I find very little here that would make anyone interested.
