5.0 out of 5 stars Don't worry, Sega has finally done something great November 6, 2004
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I am totally surprised by this game because Sega recently has been making some disappointing titles, such as Sonic Heros. Believe me, Sega Superstars is a combination of awesome music and action games! As a lover of either area, you won't be disappointed. For music fans, there are classic games such as Space Channel 5 and Sumba de Amigo. For action games, there are Puyo Puyo, Billy the Hatcher, House of the Dead, etc. Some of these sub-games are either as good as or even better than the original ones. For Space Channel 5, you move your hands for dancing steps instead of pressing the controller buttons as in the original game. For Nights into Dreams, you actally fly with your hands! For a price of under $30, you got a combination of over 10 games, and each of them is made meticulously.

I would prefer to buy this game instead of wasting much for getting a bunch of original ones. By the way, one thing I would complain of this game is that it is slightly harder than the original versions. The second thing is that Sonic is one of the unoriginal and worse ones among all the mini-games. I wonder when Sonic teams can make something right again.

Overall, no matter what kind of game fans you are, you will like "Sega Superstars"!

4.0 out of 5 stars Quite good May 23, 2005

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This is much better than "Eye Toy Play". Overall, the games have much more depth. Eye Toy Play's games were too simple, and I had no motivation to try the harder levels.

I've tried all the games except Crazy Taxi and the soccer one. Personally Crazy Taxi doesn't seem all that interesting. My favorites are Nights, Super Monkey Ball, and Samba De Amigo. Many of the games are just plain hard, and your arms will get tired real quick. This can be a good thing depending on whether you want a workout.

One complaint: the targets in Space Channel 5 seemed to become unresponsive when the beat got faster, so I'm not even able to complete easy mode. It could be the lighting, but all the other games seem to work.

A Kid's Review
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This game is TOTALLY awesome!!! I don't see why this game is rated Teen. My siblings are 8 and 4 and they do not have any problem with it!! The only violence is the boxing game{which really is not violence anyway.Just some punching.} If you or your child is a Sonic LOVER than get this game!!! Even for your child. I was TOTALLY satisfied!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING AMAZING AMZING! December 30, 2004

Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
when i got this i thought it would be good but not this good its awesome theres sonic on it house of the dead crazy taxi space channel 5 and 8 more its great. Its alot alot better then eye toy play 2 i mean on this(what i mean by on this is sega superstars) there is easy normal and hard for every game and on some ultra hard. Also when you take pictures first of all its just normal but if you get a second new record you get a photo with what ever game you played (for example sonic if you get 2 new records you get a picture with sonic and shadow)and also the games are alot funner.

note: on sonic if you complete easy normal hard then you unlock shadow also if you get all emralds you turn into supersonic and you destroy anything (havent done it with shadow yet)also if you complete nights in hard then you get a bonus level and on puyo pop fever if you complete all difficultys then you unlock free mode and last but not least samba de amigo complete all six songs on hard and unlock six more songs

this game is amazing and you will not get bored of it thats a promise.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertainment for all April 8, 2007

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I have as much fun watching my kids as they do actually playing the game. I have, of course, tried it myself. It is obviously a good thing to parents to see their kids sweat with effort while playing a computer game. It is also great to see them enjoy it so much. There is a good deal of competition for those who want it. It also serves nicely as a social game. It is hard not to get excited when both voice and the whole body are involved in the game. Sega Superstars is also the best compilation game for Eye-Toy that I have seen. Eye Toy Play 2 is good (and recommended as well), but this is awsome.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great games, fun & really is interactive October 2, 2008

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this used w/o a manual & monkey ball slowed/glitched & could not get space channel 5 to respond 90% of the time, I will return & buy another.
games:
samba de amigo - 5? songs normal, med & hard (killer!), no controllers needed! works great, same as original & new wii, etc. versions
sonic - use 1 hand to guide sonic in a tube running towards the center to grab coins & gems & avoid mines.
virtual fighter - unlike the play's boxing, this shows the whole body & shows wehre to hit the cartoon opponent & where/when to block on easy mode (haven't played harder modes yet)
super monkey ball - works surprisingly well, though bit more difficult, use both hands like flying/holding a ball to direct, takes a while to get used to, but very responsive, beautiful backgroudn graphics & has look of the wii version & how responds.
crazy taxi - should/loud noise to hail taxi (I have no manual)
house of the dead - punch the zombis, avoid the damsels (she slaps you back if you hit her accidently which is funny) & hit the bosses only when tells you where the weak point is.
space channel 5 - you're ulala hitting 6 drums around you mimicing the ones shown by the alien, a dancy simon/DDR using handsance with Ulala to the alien beat.
chuchu rocket - simple board game look, you hit target to keep bridge up over empty spaces to let chu-chus (doggies?) walk over to the goal of the rocket. kapukapus will also try to get to rocket & can jump empty spaces, you must let them walk on bridge & drop it as they cross. easy mode has 2 bridges you control at once.
billy hatcher & giant egg - wave hands over egg to direct it to crush enemies, etc.
virtual striker - soccer drops from top & using your head to bounce it into balloons of different points.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best games using eyetoy.
The reason I think this is great is because of the mini-games and the adjustable difficulty of mini-games, and some of the free play mini-games.

4.0 out of 5 stars game good but needs proper set up
The minigames are interesting and varied; the eye toy set up itself can be frustrating; you have to have very good lighting in order to get the sensor to respond to your movements.
