Like the title says, this thing only plays audio through one speaker. So, it's probably good enough for phone calls, but useless for listening to music. It should really say MONO somewhere in the description.

This is a wonderful little item that allows me to use my regular old wired headset/mouthpiece that worked with all my prior cell phones with my Blackberry. Great for those of us who cannot use the Bluetooth earpiece with microphone very well.

This does what it is supposed to do - it allows me to use a standard wired headset with my BBerry Curve. I just keep it in case my bluetooth runs out of juice, and have only used it a couple of times, but can't complain. (I also can't get too excited about an adaptor either, hence the 3 stars.)

This adapter is very poorly manufactured. Both ends of the connection frayed within weeks. I'm now looking for a higher quality connector.

Physically the item seems to connect properly, however I experienced considerable static via a set of wired earphones. Moving the connections around eliminated the static. This problem is consistent but I could not determine if this problem is unique to my unit, or a general issue, or an interaction with the headphones I am using. The headphones are probably not the source of the problem - they work well in any other device, they are Bose earphones.

When I used this connector, it damaged the Headset/microphone socket on the Iphone. I suspect the IPhone end of the adapter is too long for the IPhone's socket. The first use of this adapter resulted in the immediate failure of the IPhone's internal speaker circuit (the private listening speaker). I had to use the room speaker to hear my calls. Apple replaced the IPhone under warranty. This adapter is NOT compatible with the IPhone!

Although pricey, this adapter works well. I needed to plug my Blackberry Pearl into my motorcycle intercom system (IMC MIT-100) so I could receive calls and talk on the mobile while riding. The intercom system uses a 2.5mm plug through which (mono) audio and microphone signals could be exchanged with the phone. It works great! I have no problems with the phone at all. The Pearl ID's my intercom system as a "headset" and sends the audio through the jack and receives the microphone signal perfectly.
My only negative comment would be that the cable itself between the two connector plugs is very thin and does not appear to be very robust. I have had no problem but nonetheless, it does concern me a little.
Overall, a very good buy.

I bought two cheaper adapters and they were crap. This has happened to me before and I have now learned my lesson. Seido makes good stuff and if you have the option to buy the Seido or something cheaper buy the Seido.

I used this to adapt my Etymotic ER22c Mono headset (microphone + earpiece) to my Blackberry Curve 8330. Works great. Does not add extra bulk.

EDIT: The adapter has broken after using it for less than 2 weeks. I should have listened to the other reviewer who said that it is cheaply made. The wires frayed very easily. These particular adapters are very hard to find in a store, but my local Verizon store sells one that works, and is sturdier, so I bought it instead. Changing my rating from 5 stars to 1.

I bought this to use with a Blackberry. It fit in the slot, but the blackberry doesn't recognize it. My OEM headphones work fine, so it's not a problem with my phone it's a problem with this adapter. Maybe they sent me the wrong one since the bag says it works on the iphone which has a similar input.
