LOVE THIS CLOCK. SLIGHTLY OLD FASHIONED STYLING, BUT I LIKE THAT. IT HAS A NICE LOUD BELL-TYPE ALARM. YOU CANNOT SLEEP WHEN THIS ALARM IS ON! SO IF YOU ARE A FAIRLY HEAVY SLEEPER, IT SHOULD WAKE YOU UP WITH NO PROBLEMS. THE ONLY WARNING I HAVE IS THAT WHEN YOU SET THE ALARM TIME, MAKE SURE YOU TURN THE KNOB IN THE COUNTERCLOCKWISE DIRECTION AS STATED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS, OR IT WON'T WORK. OTHER THAN THAT, THIS IS A GREAT LITTLE CLOCK. IT ALSO KEEPS GOOD TIME.

With the exception of one thing (and it's a big thing), I am please with this clock. I should have heeded the other reviewer's comment on the loud alarm. This alarm will JOLT you out of bed. It turns out I don't like my heart racing that fast, that early. So I'm in the market for an alarm clock with adjustable volume or better yet, one that gently crescendos until you turn it off. Also, you only have 14 days to return this clock after purchase- I missed the window.

I gave this Seiko alarm clock a 5-star rating because it
is easy to read the large numerals, you can see it in the dark, has a nice calming green glow as opposed to that
glaring red which I can't stand and it does what other
reviewers mentioned: get your bod outta bed!
It is a loud ringing type alarm and I use it for my son's
wake up call. If you need to get up before anyone else
and don't want to wake them even in the next room I would
suggest not using this clock ~ would've been nice to have
a volume control on the ringer for that purpose ~ perhaps
the next generation.

I like this clock quite a bit. Although it is made of plastic it doesn't feel cheap. The on/off switch for the alarm and the knob to adjust the time and alarm feel relatively sturdy. The only thing I don't know about is the backlight. It looks like an LED, meaning it would probably last as long if not longer than the rest of the clock, but I have my doubts. It could just be a really small incandescent bulb or something, I really wish I knew. The alarm is actually made by a bell inside the clock instead of a digital pre-recorded sound, so it's really loud. Just what I need, as I'm one of the heaviest sleepers you'd ever care to meet. But it could be a bit too loud for some. Fair warning. Even if the bulb ever burned out, once your eyes adjust to the darkness the glow-in-the-dark numbers and hands are easy to see, so you'd be fine. And they stay glowing all night, even when in a relatively dark room throughout the day. This clock is powered completely by a C battery, so you'd be fine in a power outage. I personally think this clock could have benefited from a power cord that powered only the backlight, so as to keep it lit constantly while not causing a drain on the battery, but I digress... Overall, this is a good alarm clock for the heavy sleeper. Keeps good time, too. I recommend it highly.

The time-keeping on this clock has been very accurate however the alarm is very inaccurate. For example, if I set the alarm for 6am, it might actually ring at 6am. The next time that I set it for 6am, it might ring at 6:15 or 6:20am when it was set for 6am. Obviously, the "alarm arm" does not always line-up with the inner mechanism. I don't recommend this clock!

This is my best alarm. I have it for a year before writing this review. The alarm noise starts from slow, soft, and gradually increase the volume and frequency. Use only one 'AA' battery and last for a year. Easy to turn alarm OFF and ON. A knob at the back is very to find at night and to set time. Easy to see those big numbers and hands at night. It doesn't light up all night, as some other alarm clocks. I don't want any light in my bedroom when I sleep. It doesn't make ticking noise! This is what I love the most....So, this alarm clock is the best clock for me. I'm getting one more this year for my friend X'Mas gift.

This clock has an alarm that is loud enough to wake me even with my hearing impairment. A nice clock that keeps perfect time. I would certainly reccomend this clock if someone needs a loud ringing alarm clock. Most of the electric or battery operated alarm clocks does not wake me, but this one does the job. Looks nice too.

I've had this alarm clock for maybe a year now? I think? Anyway, it's worked great. I'm a really heavy sleeper so I need a no-holds-barred alarm. VERY loud ringer (which I love) easy-to-read numbers, battery operated, good bargain! My only complaint would be that the little light that comes on when you hold the sleeper button is really, really dim. Actually, it's pretty much useless. Fortunately, the numbers are glow-in-the-dark so they show up really well at night. (Good luck seeing the alarm hand though, it doesn't glow and it's hard to get it to catch the sleeper button light.)

This is my final of 3 wakeups. First my stereo comes on at a low-moderate listening level. Then another Seiko alarm gives me some snooze opportunities. When this bell goes off, I know it's no joke, time to get up and make the coffee. I only use it for the bell, and it's across the room so I'm standing when I turn it off. If this sounds familiar, you need this bell alarm.
