This is a very nice clock, with clear dial face and a very comforting Westminster chime tone. I wonder why we didn't do this years ago. It really does add a nice feel to a house.

I purchased this clock to help me to stop throughout the day ... to pause, reflect and then move forward peacefully. There are 2 different sounds to choose from and you can turn off during sleep time. Would have preferred not having the chimes every 15 minutes, but have gotten use to them. A good purchase.

I gave this clock to my mother-in-law who is legally blind. She loves it and can count the chimes to tell what time it is. It helps her to stay oriented and feel more secure. The chimes are very nice and sound like a grandfather clock. The night-time chimes off feature is great, so that it doesn't disturb during the sleeping hours. The volume is also adjustable. This is a very attractive clock in a beautifully finished wood cabinet.

I purchased this mantle clock on 11-28-2011....CyberMonday for a Christmas present. It's a beautiful clock but I've already had to send it to Seiko for $18.00 UPS for repair. The chimes ring one hour ahead of the hour mark.....I tried and cried for a whole weekend of re-setting to no avail. The postage to mail for a repair on a brand new clock does not sit well with me let alone that I won't be able to give this clock to the special person that I've chosen this clock for as Christmas present. Who knows when I'll get it back from Seiko. Can a lemon be beautiful and chime on time??????

The clock case is very well finished and looks good. The chimes are easy to set and volume adjust. Although the on-line description describes the included battery as "one AA battery" in actuality the included battery is "one C cell" and that is what is required to operate the clock.

You get used to the "chime" every 15-minutes. A different chime at a quarter after, half hour, and quarter 'till. The hardwood case is beautiful! Even the back panel was hardwood. Give it FIVE stars, except --

Nothing German about it. Our clock was 100% made in China. The 3-year Warranty, turned out to be a "Limited ONE-year" Warranty.

While the name is Seiko, guess we were expecting a better warranty? It is a beautiful clock, and we love it! Just hoping it lasts longer than a couple years?

We have been thrilled with this Seiko chiming clock. It looks very nice with a solid wood finish and the chimes ring precisely at :15, :30, :45 and :00 with a great tone!

I would give this clock as a gift -only I want it for myself! Lovely chimes, the right size for an apartment. Well made, an heirloom in the making.

We bought this clock, fell in love with it, but had to return it because it was too small for our mantel. We like the regular numerals and the white face. The number of chime tones is excessive.
