Just a real solid piece, October 23, 2010
This review is from: Seiko Men's Automatic Watch SRP043K2 (Watch)
I purchased the stainless bracelet version of this watch on Amazon. Shipped from Singapore (Creation Watches). Arrived lightning quick, with full tracking. I love it to death. I am very happy with the accuracy - and this is coming from someone who swears by Casio atomic/solar watches. The quality of the metal work, the clean, matte dial, the heavy bracelet, the minimal/tool-like look. I am hooked. Only negatives would be the non-hacking mechanism (cannot "pause" the movement when setting the time to synchronize the seconds) (actually you can do this by gently turning the crown the wrong way, but this is undocumented and unsure if safe) and not having an option to wind. AND I guess the fact that it in no way has the 52 hr reserve that is listed in the instructions. Maybe since I've only used it a grand total of like 3 weeks - I've read that automatics need to break in a little. Very happy.

Excellent Seiko Diver, August 8, 2010
This review is from: Seiko Men's Automatic Watch SRP043K2 (Watch)
One of the most legible Seiko divers out there. I really like the 12/3/6/9 dial with the flieger hands. I wonder if Seiko has the fortitude to continue making them or go back to the ho-hum SKX007 design. The new 4R15 movement is pretty accurate too, it is running +/-5 seconds. Not quite COSC, but hey it is 1/30th the price of a Submariner. The new rubber strap compared to the old Seiko Z20 is inferior IMHO and the old Z20 straps do not work with the case of this design. I think I will get a shark skin strap to as the permanent strap for this watch. The lume is Seiko-good but not Monster great. Still stays well lit up all through the night. The AR coated crystal makes the dial very easy to see with no reflections.

Tough, legible, accurate, December 30, 2010
This review is from: Seiko Men's Automatic Watch SRP043K2 (Watch)
My first Seiko watch has been running accurately for thirty years and my son now wears it. This new diver is very legible, quite accurate, and takes a beating. I'm very pleased with it.
