It's light for its size, the belt is not as solid as the more expansive seiko (arctura). The Arctura has better build and quality, but it's doubles the MSRP.

I bought this watch for my husband for his birthday. Seiko is a reputable company and I have owned many seiko watches. However, this watch is not performing. My husband says it stops constantly even when he is wearing it and he needs to reset the time a couple times a day. He works outdoors and is constantly on the move. I thought this watch would be perfect for him but apparently it is not. I am returning the watch today.

I have a "thing" about orange so when it was time for a new watch, this one REALLY got my attention. I like the idea of it being automatic but when I opt for my bang-around watch on the weekends, I find I need to re-set this Seiko Monday morning. Very nice watch in every other respect.

I'm kind of a watch snob. I used to prefer Swiss made watches. My previous watch was a quartz powered Omega Seamaster Professional. I had it for thirteen years - and used it for my everyday watch. It never missed a second, the stainless band with sapphire crystal was bulletproof, and the build quality - superior.

It wasn't until I was doing some reading on watch snob forums around a good sub-$1000 diving watch that MANY Rolex, Omega, Breitling watch guys said they owned the Seiko "Orange" series watches and used them for their everyday and for diving. Their reasoning? Why dent/scuff up a $5k, $10k+ watch diving?

Well, I was taken back - but doing more reading... for a little less than $150... this watch is nicknamed the "Baby Orange" as it's rated for around 100m of deep water versus 300m+ of the Seiko diving series. It's got a solid feel and it's a VERY masculine watch. It RIVALED my old Omega unit which costed me 10x more, plus with the automatic movement, the closest comparable Omega unit was around $3000.

So I readjusted my thinking... SOLD my Omega Seamaster on EBAY and picked up this watch. Yes, it's that impressive.
And yes, I had plenty of money leftover. :)

Excellent value. Well-built with Seiko's tradition of quality materials and automatic movement means no batteries to buy...ever. Looks great. Lume is really bright.
