Pulsar watches have a good reputation. They offer good value and, at least all of mine, are reliable. I saw a review of this watch in AutoWeek and decided to investigate it as a possible "going to the race track" watch. The article said it was cool and affordable with the kind of features you would need to time race cars. The list price of $199 made it seem a bit pricy for a digital LCD watch but Amazon's discount cut that nearly in half so I put it in my wish list and my wife surprised me with it for my birthday.

My impressions - it's one huge chunk of watch! It is heavy and thick. If you have a small wrist, you may not like wearing it day in and day out. The band, a heavy and thick, tire-tread affair, looks like it will last for years but, again, if you have a thin wrist, this may not be the band for you. The main reason for a watch is to tell time and this one keeps it very accurately. I set it a month ago and it has not varied from the atomic clock in my kitchen by even a second. The stopwatch function has a 100 lap memory - more than enough for just about any competition I normally attend. Setting the time, alarm and the hourly chime is simple too. I wore this watch on a recent business trip to Wisconsin - it's in a different time zone from home - and it was simple to reset and the alarm and chime set and reset were so intuitive that I didn't have to read the thick, slightly confusing, manual. The light button turns on a fairly dim back light - if you are in the dark, it's fine but certainly not as bright as watches with Timex's Indiglow feature. The watch has a GMT function meaning it can give you the time in different time zones. If you travel, that's a useful thing to have. There is also a count-down timer. Useful for timing parking meters and relatively easy to set as well.

This watch is very sturdy and well made. Looks great.
    The band is rugged.
A bit complicated to set up. Owner's manual is poor.

This is a good watch. Design is interesting, quality is good. Watch features world time with 54 cities, 100 lap memory function, chronograph, 3 different alarm, 12/24 hour time format. It was easy to initially set it up.

Looks good on your wrist, but beware that it is heavy and big. The numbers could be a little brighter and the interface could be more intuitive to use. Price is very good.

Everything you wanted from an electronic watch, very comfortable rubber strip, u really need to open up the instruction manual to set it up.

Well made, solid, features meet all needs. The yellow bar on bottom sets if off, visually. Only negative the rubber band is too stiff.
