I have received numerous compliments on the watch.

Looks even better in person than in the picture- not too large, not too small for my ~7 inch wrist.

This is one great deal for the price, value, and substance.

Let me explain: it's deeply discounted at the Amazon price offer, being 10 Bar rated with the fit and finish it offers a great value, all while the construction and mechanism of the watch is really substantially on the high end.

This is a direct competition for the "Movado Museum Collection", which actually sells for several times the retail value of this watch. The Hardlex crystal itself is hard to find at this price point. Once you size the band - correctly - to your wrist, it sets there like a thousand dollars watch and complements both formal and casual styles.

In short, I've more than 2 dozen watches - ranging in price, function and styles - and this one is a great addition to a very highly selective collection. Grab it while you still can and consider your self...very lucky.

The photo of this watch doesn't do it justice. It is a high gloss black ion finish over stainless steel. The face is exceptionally easy to read. Please note it is large. This is not meant for a small wrist. But I have an average wrist and it looks great on it.

Just got this watch today from Amazon. Was shipped Next Day Air and received it promptly. Opened up the box like a kid on Christmas morning and was quite happy. The picture doesn't do it justice. This watch looks better in person. Very easy to read and while not illuminated, catching even a dim amount of lighting makes it easy to read at night. Even with the good size face, the watch is still light and comfortable. This watch is not totally black nor is it gray..it's like a gunmetal color that can be worn casual or dressy. Now considered one of my favorite watches even more than my other Euro brand that cost in the thousands. Im not worried about wearing it everywhere

This is a beautifully crafted watch with high quality material. It's an attention-grabber that goes equally well with both casual wear and business suits.

In reading the reviews, it appeared you couldn't set the date by pulling out the stem half way. Wrong. Yes, the band is long, but all you have to do is take a thumb tack and push out the pins in the direction of the arrows on the inside of the band to remove the extra links. Once the protective plastic film was removed from the band, and the residual adhesive washed off, there's no sign of smudges. I have also had zero problems of the stem coming out. Over-all, a great looking watch, and don't be misled by some of the negative reviews.

I know this is nitpicking but just in case there are buyers out there looking for an actual BLACK watch...
Amazon's product description:
- Black tone stainless steel bracelet
- Black ion finish

I guess from the above descriptions, I assumed the watch to be black. Certain pictures of this watch, at my time of purchase, actually look "true" black. However, I would categorize it as more of a glossy, gunmetal and NOT black. I took away half a star for this just because I was looking for a watch with an actual black band.

I took another half a star off for the fact that it was VERY irritating to set the date. I've read the manual that came with the watch and followed the instructions but still was not able to pull the crown out to the "second click." I may be doing it wrong so if someone else knows what's going on, PLEASE give me your input! As for right now, I will take half a star off because I got this watch on the 28th...and the date was set on the 2nd. I had to wind through 624 hours to get the correct date, since winding it backwards does not seem to change the date back for some reason...

Also, this watch does not glow in the dark or anything of the sort.

Other than that, the watch looks great. I love the band that Seiko uses on most of their watches, including this one. It seriously give the band a lot more structure than your generic type of band.

Bought this watch February 2014. The picture does not do it justice. It is a beautiful casual / dress watch. The band size fitted perfectly. I will update on dependability later. I also bought a Citizen Eco Drive WR100, but I think it's going to take a ride back to Amazon.
