5.0 out of 5 stars Great watch!
It's a great watch that is now inexpensive to own. It has a perpetual calendar, people! And, the battery is good for ten years! It's a set-it-and-forget-it watch. I have many watches and the diver watches that need to self-wind made me late more than a few times because I set down and had to reset the date and wind it up again. I love that it has a +-accuracy of 15...

3.0 out of 5 stars Worked Great for 5 Days
Watch came with 3 instruction booklets: perpetual calender/date/24 hr., compass/map distance and normal time/battery function. Fairly clearly written. 10 year battery life but no way to tell shelf life before delivery to me, although the second hand "low battery" indicator (2 second increments when low) gives ~ 2 weeks notice before battery goes dead. High quality fit...

I love that it has a +-accuracy of 15 seconds- not per month, but for the entire year! Crazy accurate!

This is thick, cool looking, funtional, and I won't need to worry about the date until the year 2100. The milemarker is a great conversation piece among other watch collecters. It goes pretty deep, so it's well made, in my opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great watch, lots of features, March 10, 2007

This review is from: Seiko Men's SLT095 Milemarker Perpetual Calendar Watch (Watch)
This is a very nice watch. The watch is heavy, looks nice and people can't keep their eyes of it; I guess it intrigues them maybe due to the milemarker wheel located at 9. The perpetual calendar feature is great plus if you are an outdoorsman it can help you get out of trouble. The batery life is 10 years, which is nice and it's 200 m water resistant, a must if you are a diver. The crown screws in and out which is another plus. It can be a good watch for those who like to wear the on the right hand. But the fact that I liked the most was that The Watch Zone went crazy one day and offered it at $104.00 plus free shipping, so I purchased it with no regrets(other sites have it at $265.00 and even at $300.00). If you are a watch collector like myself it would be a nice addition to your watch box.

5.0 out of 5 stars Milemarker, March 20, 2007
Sharp looking GMT with protrusion for measuring map distances. Thought this extra "crown" would cause some discomfort on my left wrist, but found it wears well on either wrist. Perpetual callendar is great, but I do have to remember to reset in 2100. Water and shock resistant with bullet proof clasp, so great watch for use as a beater. Just need to mind the crystal. mineral glass. RSW

This review is from: Seiko Men's SLT095 Milemarker Perpetual Calendar Watch (Watch)
This watch is an unlikely masterpiece. The large clunky-looking map reading stem might put off some people, if you judge it by the photographs. So might the slightly old-fashioned look of the watch face. But on your wrist, this watch is impressive: the face is easy to read under almost all lighting conditions, and the 24-hour hand (set to either give time in a second zone, or to show local time in a 24-hour format) is visible but unobtrusive. The perpetual calendar won't need to be reset until long after I'm dead (the year 2100) and the battery is supposed to last ten years. Accuracy of the quartz movement is guaranteed to be +/- 20 SECONDS per YEAR. "The only watch you'll ever really need."

5.0 out of 5 stars sweet timepeice!, October 17, 2007
This review is from: Seiko Men's SLT095 Milemarker Perpetual Calendar Watch (Watch)
i've been a seiko fan for years, i love this watch. i do alot of drift fishing on the local rivers, the distance measuring feature is great for measuring river miles so i can estimate time, to coordinate pick-ups. it is an eye magnet too, some people just notice nice watches. this watch really catches the eye of people. it is big, and has a little weight to it, but people into this type of watch can appreciate that it is milled from a solid hunk of stainless steel, the band is also machinings of solid stainless steel. no cheap stamped metal in this baby. if you think you'll like it, you'll love it.

Bought this at $130.00. Original around $400+. It is very solid and heavy feel to it. It is a nice Seiko watch and I don't have to change the date!

3.0 out of 5 stars Worked Great for 5 Days, January 31, 2007
Watch came with 3 instruction booklets: perpetual calender/date/24 hr., compass/map distance and normal time/battery function. Fairly clearly written. 10 year battery life but no way to tell shelf life before delivery to me, although the second hand "low battery" indicator (2 second increments when low) gives ~ 2 weeks notice before battery goes dead. High quality fit and finish, heavy, large map "wheel"/guard protrusion. No mention of link removal in any of the booklets but readily available online using "the Google." Luminous hands/markers adequate but very diminshed brightness in less time than it takes to watch a movie. After crown is unlocked, it requires a good tug to reach the adjustments positions (2). When checked against Ft. Collins atomic clock virtually unchanged after 4 days. All working well for 5 days, no low battery indication, no shock, vibration or magnetic field, then watch stopped. No fiddling with the crown (time etc. adjustments) brought back to life. Am exchanging for another and give it another go. 5 stars otherwise.

This is an outstanding watch for outdoors and adventure type activities. The watch is large and weights a lot, and is very solid. The hand visibility is excellent and lume is pretty good. This is a quartz and not an automatic, but quartz can be better for some outdoors activities as it is more shock resistant and can take a beating. This one has a mineral glass rather than sapphire crystal, so it's more prone to scratches, but again - better for rough activities as sapphire can shatter from impact.

Watch has a second time-zone function, so while not a true GMT, it does offer ability to monitor time in two time zones.

Crown screws-in and the watch can serve you while swimming. It's not a true diver as the bezel can't be used to measure remaining time, but it's fine for swimming or casual non-timed diving.

Bracelet is very substantial and has a great feel. The only thing people should be wary off is the milemarker trackwheel which can dig in to the skin if you have a smaller wrist.

Great value for an excellent watch which is ready for swimming, hiking and other outdoors activities.
