Positives: I like the watch -- nice look, good weight, and based on previous experience w/Seiko kinetic watches, I'm confident it will have good, reliable construction and operations. Came in new watch, manufacturer original packaging w/warranty card, manuals.
Shortcomings: There are two things I do not like so much about this watch, and both concern the hands of the watch: 1. The hands of the watch are not luminescent, 2. the hands are designed such that they can not be easily seen under certain lighting conditions (esp. low light like in some restaurants).
I was able to adjust the watch band myself using a video I found posted on youtube (search "adjust seiko stainless steel watch band").
Edit (3-11, like the band): changed my review from 4 to 5 stars, my first was a dud. The dust particle was driving me crazy, then the power level button was getting mechanically sticky.
Wasn't feeling it.
But I really liked the look and feel of the watch. I already had years on my SMY111 (that I still wear and works great) so I know the watch and how it should charge and behave.
So I returned the SMY119 and got another. The new SMY119 works like a charm (and like my Smy111).
Stoked on the new one and realize my first was just a dud. It happens to the best. Even the high dollar watches.
Oh an kinetics are easy to keep charged, I know people always wonder. My SMY111 keeps a constant 6 month charge with just a jog and a once every 10 days wear. We will see how the new SMY119 does but I expect the same. If not I'll downgrade stars.
Several people have commented on how nice it is.

Hands very hard to see; light reflection makes it more difficult. I wish they made the hand luminous.Published 5 months ago by Z. Hundal
It's a solid and decent quality watch for a fair price. However, the dark face and slender hands makes it hard to read, and impossible at night.Published 11 months ago by Charlie Hotel
I ordered this because I had one for ten years and had to replace the "battery convincer" about every three years or so. Read morePublished 11 months ago by G.P.S.
I would have rated a 5 but since I cannot adjust the band to fit my wrest. I will have to rate a 4. Other than that this is a very nice watchPublished 13 months ago by Tony Wray
