I bought this for my husband after admiring it in a car magazine. It's a very eye catching watch and he gets many compliments on it. The size is perfect and the face isn't huge and bulky like so many of the watches now. I wish they had a women's version!

Uncomfortable but beautiful watch,

Although this watch seems well made and is very attractive, I returned it to the vendor. The stiff plastic band was NOT comfortable and is a custom design which does NOT lend itself to being replaced with any other quality band (like leather). The watch DOES come alternatively with a stainless steel band, but the vendor did not offer this and the price is considerably higher when so equipped elsewhere.
Also, the band was too long and there is no attractive solution to shortening it other than to lob the perfectly formed end off, rendering it with a "hacked-up" look.

My wife bought me this watch last month. It is such a cool looking watch, very beautiful and functional. It goes with everything I wear, casual or dressy. It looks a lot nicer and more cool than what the picture showed!!! I truly am enjoying wearing it everyday!

I just recently got the watch and I must it is very eye catching and beautiful. The black and red combination is very engaging and elegant, just like the formula one sport the watch represents. The second hand and the stopwatch hand have a nice automative look to them, also underneath the band, there are black rubber studs, also displaying an automative feel. Overall, the watch is very nice looking and captures the F1 theme well. It is also well built with a sapphire crystal being used for timing. The box also comes with a nice little official F1 honda racing pin.

Great Seiko watch; not only it carries the Seiko quality but it also looks great. The F1 motif fits the watch perfectly. The Polyurethane strap is resistant to stains and sweat which prevents any strap discoloration overtime.

Beautiful Watch!,
A Kid's Review
I own this watch since July. Since then the watch behaives good. It has a good accuracy hour and it's beautiful. When I was looking for a watch, I wanted one like this, limited edition, F1 and Seiko and with chronograph when I first see it it caught my total attention. I love the back of it, is like a rim...!

I have owned this watch for over 4 years and I still love it. This watch matches my black and red F1 inspired Honda S2000, it feels like the watch was designed just for me. I must note that I have the metal band instead of the rubber. The watch face is bold but not large. The colors compliment each other well and have a sport feel. The red chronograph hand really sets off the face as well as the Honda F1 logo. In the 4+ years I have owned this watch I have worn it 95% of the time, it is my main watch. As much as I wear it the band has battle scars (no more than what you would expect) but the saphire is PERFECT. There are absolutely NO marks on the clear face. The black bezel has a few scratches that lead up to the crystal but they end there and do not follow onto the face. The alarm feature is unusable. I've played with it a couple times but the setup is un-intuitive and I have never heard it go off. This is a super minor feature to me though and does not bother me. The red chrono hand de-zeros itself sometimes. Twice in the time I have owned it I have had to reset it to the 1200 position. Not a big thing but something to note as when it first happened to me I kind of freaked out a little bit. The local jewery shops did not know how to fix it since they do not carry this watch. I found out online the simple proceedure and looked it up again when it happened the second time. Note: I own a collection of middle range watches and older watches (Hamiltons, Accutron, Pulsar, etc) and so far this is by far my favorite watch. My fiance just gifted me an Arctura that may be in the running though ;)

I`ve had the SNA749 for 6 months now. It`s definitely one of the coolest looking timepieces on the planet. I get nothing but complements every time I wear it. Due to the look of the watch and the collectability of the association with Honda Racing, it appears to have retained some value as a discontinued model, so I'd say it's one of the few quartz watches out there that may have some resale value after purchase.
As far as practical functionality goes, the "rubber" strap or whatever it's made of is in my opinion ill conceived and of poor quality. It's way too long with no way to shorten it, inflexible, uncomfortable and is already starting to discolor. The buckle when secured protrudes out at an angle. There is only one polished steel loop, which scratches easily, to secure the great length of unused strap to the portion anyone with less than a 7.5 inch wrist would need to use. Someone with a regular sized wrist who wanted to wear this watch as their main timepiece may be better off purchasing the version with the steel bracelet that can be shortened. The white hands & hour markers combined with the black face/bezel and red small tpe tach markings/black bezel are visually confusing, especially in low light with the middle of the road lumo. The watch does not lend itself to quick time reference, especially when performing activities, like, well, driving a race car or any kind of car for that matter. If you have a big wrist and want to look cool, or own a quartz that may retain some resale value, this is the watch for you, but as a watch I was going to wear everyday I'd think twice about it. |
