My search is finally over!
on June 9, 2013
It's true. I literally stopped looking at watches after buying this one.
Before I get started, i just wanted to say, I never write reviews. In fact, out of the many purchase I've made online, this is my second review, first (and probably only) with watches.
I've had plenty of watches in my lifetime. I'm not a collector, I just like watches that is accurate and that can stand the test of time. I've had mostly entry level to mid level watches, ranging from timex, casio invicta, to seiko, tissot and steinhart. Some were quality made but heavy, some were good looking but bulky, and some were just too expensive too wear everyday to avoid damage or theft. Maybe that is the reason why I've had many watches in my lifetime. I couldn't find a watch that met all of my simple criteria.
The other day I was at Macy's to buy my Wife a perfume for her birthday. On the way to the perfume department, were the watches. I'm a big Seiko fan. What I like about Seiko is, they attend to all markets. From entry level Seiko 5's, to mid to high level Seiko Spirits and Grand Seiko's. Everyone gets a chance to try their watches. And consistently and historically, Seiko has always made quality, and durable and most importantly, accurate watches that are always reasonably priced.
I go up to the case and began to scan from right to left. As I got to about the middle section, I stopped and notice the SNDC99 and I couldn't stop looking at it. I thought to myself "Wow that one is a nice watch! Must be expensive though." It reminded me of an Omega Speedmaster. I was initially planning on saving up for the Seiko Spirit SBPP001, as it does take time to save up over $450 for a watch. This one cost $244.
I quickly asked the cashier If I can look at the watch. As she handed it to me, I fell in love. It's ridiculously aesthetically beautiful. The details of this watch is pure amazing. It had so many subtle details that made the watch as a whole, pop out. From its chrome dials and hands, to its black bezel, to the chrome accent on each end link, it's thin case, giving it a streamlined clean look.
I put it on my wrist and it was perfect. It was lightweight and it contoured my arm perfectly, like it was the extension of my arm. I'm not a big fan of big bulky watches, as this one was on the thin side, which I like mainly bc I have small wrists (7"). It's 39mm case and it's perfect weight, I never had a watch feel this good on my wrist.
I believe the word best describes this watch is, BALANCED. It's chronograph feature and black bezel makes this was sporty, but it's chrome hands and dials, thin and light streamlined design gives it a classy look. It's light, but doesn't feel cheap. Its thin, but it's design stands out from your wrist. And best all, you will get a great quality and accurate watch by a reputable brand for less than $125 here on Amazon. Over $100 less than Macy's!
It's not an Omega, it's not a Tag. It's not a Rolex. But every time I check to see what time it is, I get a smile on my face knowing I have a beautiful, quality, and accurate watch on my wrist without breaking the bank.
I'm done. The search is over. I have found my watch.
