Great watch, other then the extremely quiet alarm & timer.,
By The main reason I purchased this watch over other less expensive, equally attractive Seiko's was the Split/Lap Chrono, Countdown Timer, & two separately functioning alarms. Herein lies my gripe. In a completely quiet room with the watch held close to my head, I can barely hear the 20 second Alarm and/or Countdown Timer. They are useless to me if I can't hear them. I'm 31 years old without any known hearing problems (to my knowledge). I called Seiko and they said this was normal. If you're getting this watch for the Alarm or Timer functionality, don't. Otherwise, it's a great watch.

Good Watch but a bit pricy,
The watch looks good, feels good but as the manual says the LCD life is only 7 years, I was a bit disappointed. If I knew this earlier, would not have paid so much for this watch

Best watch I've ever had,
This review is from: Seiko Men's SNJ019 Sportura Alarm Chronograph Watch (Watch)
I paid $400+ for mine at a mall a couple of years ago and have no regrets. I use the countdown timer several times a day (tea timer) with no problem; plenty loud for me. One feature that I'm surprised they don't brag about more is the synchronization between digital and analogue. I reset the digital time every week or two (never off by more than a second or two) and the minute hand stays in perfect synch automatically. The overall look is analogue, which important to me, because that's how I perceive time. The digital gadgets are available when I want them (often), but are otherwise hidden from view--very nice. My only gripe is minor: in the late afternoon (okay, twice a day) the hands interfere with viewing the digital numbers. I'm only here now, because I was looking to see if anything better has been invented; nope.

Bought this watch for my time sensitive husband. He has determined that this watch only loses 1 second per week. He has never had a more accurate watch. Very pleased with this purchase.

Can't hear the Alarm or Timer,

First off, gotta say I love this watch. Unfortunately, I chose this one over other less expensive Seiko's because I needed one with a countdown timer and alarm. It's so quiet I can barely hear it in a silent room with the watch held close to my head. Nope, no hearing problems. Just an extremely quiet watch.

Pros: Looks great and feels solid.
Cons: Either there is a design flaw or we were unlucky in getting poor components in the watch we received. The pin which connects the watch face to the watch band, broke twice during the first week. The pins broke twice while the watch was on my wrist. I don't know if other users have had the same problems as the watch face may be too heavy to be supported by these tiny little pins. I am going to try to return the watch if the pin continues to break.

Alarm volume could be higher, but not worse than most ot my other wrist watches. What I like most, and was THE REASON for buying, is ITS CLEAN ANALOG LOOK, without the Digital Features present, unless needed. Amazon, The best value and speedy delivery.

I read the review about the too quiet alarm and this troubled me as I use the alarm a lot and was interested in the Seiko SNJ019 model. So I went to the mall and tried one on my wrist and set the alarm to go off in a few minutes while I talked with the salesperson. This was at a kiosk out in the open area of the local mall with a normal amount of people walking by and talking, and I clearly heard the alarm when it went off. I am almost 60 years old and do have some hearing loss, but not enough to need any hearing aids. I think the alarm volume is fine. This is May 2009, so maybe Seiko changed something between 2007 and now.
