SNKL07 is one of Seiko's newer Seiko 5 models. My watch was built in December 2011 in Malaysia, number 2,620 in that month's production. It has Seiko's well-known 7S26 movement. It is an automatic (self-winding) mechanical watch which cannot be hand-wound, and its second hand cannot be paused or "hacked" when you set the watch. If you have limited mobility or limited arm movement, you may not be able to keep an automatic-only watch running. Case diameter is 38 mm (40 mm including the crown). It has conventional lugs for a 20 mm bracelet or strap. It displays the date and the day of the week in English and Spanish, printed in black on white with Saturday and Sunday printed in blue and red respectively. The dial is a very dark navy blue. Seiko rates this watch for 30 meters water resistance.

The dial has eleven large bar markers, extra wide at 6, 9 and 12. The markers are painted on the dial in a thick coat of luminous paint, with a little silver border to add sparkle. Seiko has the best luminous paint in the industry, and the SNKL07 has the strongest lume I have seen on a Seiko 5: it glows in the dark like a diver watch for six hours. If you need a watch you can read in the dark, this is a good one. The second hash marks and numbers are well executed but not very useful, since the numbers cannot be read at arm's length.

SNKL07 has sister models: SNKL03 has a gray dial, SNKL05 has a green dial, and SNKL09 has a black dial. Except for dial color, these watches are almost identical (SNKL09 has a black date wheel). In addition, there are two variants on the black-dial SNKL09: SNKL11 has a black bezel, and SNKL13 has a black, ion-plated case and bracelet.

The metal bracelet is the best I have seen on a Seiko 5, but it is a folded-link bracelet you could not pay me to wear.

I received my Seiko 5 yesterday. The watch was packed nicely with air packing and had a nice blue box for the watch itself.
The order was placed Thursday night and delivered Monday as was scheduled by UPS. I am definitely happy with my purchase. The overall look of the watch is clean and elegant. It started right up when I removed it from the box. I set the time off of the clock on my Iphone yesterday and has not lost a second as of today at 9:00AM. Adjusting the band was a slight learning curve but I will save you the hassle and past the website that solved that.

Thanks again for the amazing watch and service.

Was very pleased with this watch. It looks a lot better than the photo. Dial face is a deep navy blue, and the metal is solid. Very professional and classy. Only downside are that the crystal face got nicked its first day, so not scratch resistant, watch is not Japan made (Malaysian), and a bit on the heavy side. Otherwise, great price and a handsome timepiece.

This is my second Seiko 5. The first I bought in 1984, when I was in the US Navy. That watch is probably still working, since it kept near perfect time for 25 years, until I took it off and put it on the dash of a strangers truck I was helping dig out of a river, and forgot it. I Hope he enjoys it as much as I did.
This new one is nearly identical in appearance, save for the clear back that allows you to see the internals of the watch as they move, and the band, which has a positive release button, whereas the original would sometimes pop open if I smacked it against something just the right way.
So far, it has kept near perfect time, losing only about 3 seconds per day. So far, I couldn't be happier.

    Update...

I've now had this watch for a little over a 3 months, and have noticed a definite improvement in it's time keeping. When I first got it, it was losing about 3 seconds per day, or about a minute every 15-18 days. No big deal. But I have noticed that during the last 2 months, that I haven't had to adjust it forward at all. I never thought a watch would have a break in period, but I guess they do. Love this watch!

It looks nice and keeps time: What more could you ask for? With everyday wear, I don't seem to lose or gain more than a few seconds.

I am a longtime Seiko user. I love this Seiko 5 automatic, and for the price, it is a great bargain. The deep blue face is beautiful. Its easy to read at night. The transparent gears in the back are cool. The weight feels solid, but not too bulky. The watch-band clasp has a convenient locking mechanism. I read the reviews about some Seiko 5 automatic watches losing or gaining a few minutes per day, but I haven't experienced it yet. I don't mind re-adjusting the time once in a while and not having to mess with batteries. I am very pleased and hope it lasts 12 years like my last Seiko watch.

    Good value for the price.
    Keeps time accurately.
Following a YouTube video, I pretty easily took out 4 links in the bracelet to make it fit my skinny wrists.
    The luminescence works well.
    Very happy with my purchase.
As some others have said, it is a fairly small watch face - if you have large wrists/hands, you may find it too small.

I have my Seamaster in the shop for repair so I bought this as a fill-in. Paired it with the "Nato 20mm Heat Sealed Heavy Nylon Polished Buckle - Black" I found here on Amazon.com. They even price matched it to the sale price that happened two days later (was like $12 cheaper!).
