I wanted a 100% titanium band but could not find one this season with the right combination of finish and features, so I got this one because I assumed the TiCN coating would at least be hard and durable. I have to report, however, that after only one week, there is already visible wear where the band touches the desk while using my keyboard. In fact, the underlying stainless is already visible on three of the links. So, nice looking watch (it's much blacker than the pictures show, by the way) but if you are looking for the hardness and wear resistance properties of titanium as a feature, you should probably keep looking.

Seiko Men's Perpetual Calendar Black Ion Watch,

Nice watch, highly recommended. Purchased one in April 2009 to augment my 2004 titanium day/date kinetic- a watch no longer offered by Seiko. The capacitor in the kinetic had croaked after five years of heavy use, I wanted to pick up a solid battery watch that wold be appropriate in a business or casual setting. The perpetual black ion is a nice compliment. The black ion finish is glossier than it appears in online ads, however the overall effect is still rich and subdued. The gloss finish will probably dull to a more satin-like finish over time. The black ion watch is steel, therefore much heavier than the titanium kinetic. The steel black ion must also be taken off for most airport screening, the titanium can stay on your wrist and go through without triggering the detectors. In general, I prefer the titanium kinetic's functionality, but will use the perpetual black ion for business and more formal attire. As Seiko timepieces, both watches keep perfect time.

Seiko Perpetual watch,

I bought this watch in 2002. In Febrary 2007, the watch's calendar went out of sync. I have taken the watch to 3 different authorized Seiko Jewelers to have fixed. The battery has been replaced twice. The last Jeweler contacted Seiko and learned the perpetual calendar mechanisn has a defect. Seiko knows about the defect and offers no fix, refund or any kind of resolution. They just said "too bad". I will never buy another Seiko.

Seiko Watch,

The info was slightly misleading in as much as I thought the watch was completly Titanium. Once the watch arrived I liked it very much, and I am very pleased with my purchase.

I got this watch for my 19 year old boyfriend last Christmas. Not only did he love it, but it looks really good on. Some watches are too bulky or too small, but this watch fits perfectly. It does it's job, and it is super easy to figure out how to set it. It comes in a blue box, and it is wrapped around a pillow thing. I recommend keeping it around the pillow thing, just so it doesn't get dirty, and it protects it from scratching the band. This would make a great gift for graduation, birthdays, Christmas, or Valentine's day. Perfect gift if you need a gift your man will actually wear!

I bought this watch for my boyfriend for Christmas and he loved it! It looks even better in person than online and looks even better on my boyfriend. I couldn't have picked a better watch. The only problem we had was trying to change the perpetual calendar. We ended up just winding the hands around and around until the calendar got to the right date. The nice thing about this watch is that you can change the band size without having to take it to a jeweler. If you're looking for an expensive looking dress watch that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg, than I highly recommend this one.

This watch is a great looking watch; a bit heavier than expected. Seiko is well known and this watch fits their brand name.
