About Seiko
In 1877, at the age of 18, Kintaro Hattori set up business repairing the Western-style clocks that were becoming increasingly popular in Japan. By 1892, Hattori was manufacturing his own clocks in a factory he called Seikosha, from the words "seiko" meaning "exquisite," "success," or "miniature," and "sha" meaning "house." The company grew and prospered, producing its first wristwatch in 1913 and launching the Seiko brand in 1924. Technological innovation has always been a driving force in the company's history. After many years of collecting watches, I'm falling again with Seiko watches! Where can you find affordability, durability, and realiability in one watch? Seiko "5" is your answer. Seiko "5" is probably the most affordable of all automatic watches from any brand, and they are built to last a lifetime. Seiko "5" means, 1.Date, 2.Day, 3.Automatic, 4.Shock Resistant, 5.Water Resistance. This model in particular, it's a rolex style. It has stainless steel bracelet(jubilee) and case, see thru back, hardlex scratch resistance crystal, luminous hands and markers, water resistance to 100 feet, a 21 Jewel automatic movement cal. 7S26, and 1 year warranty. Where can you find all that for less than $100? This watch can be adjusted for accuracy, but I would recommend a waiting period of a couple of months for the movement to settle down. When I dress up, this is the watch I wear. It's confortable, classic, and simply gorgeous. The same watch upgraded to water resist 100m (330ft) is called "Sport". With saphire Crystal and a 23 jewel automatic movement, "Superior".

This watch was sold and shipped by 007 WatchMidpoint and it came super fast, given the fact that they are in Houston, so do I.

It came with the outer cover, blue box, instructions for a quick setup (a Xerox copy), printed manual and warranty card.

I was looking to add a white face dress watch to my little collection and thought this one would fit the bill but I think I made a mistake with it.

First of all the good:

1) Confy
2) Fairly accurate
3) Lumibrite hands an markers glow is very good.
4) Finish overall is decent.

The bad:

1) The bracelet is dirt cheap and TOO blingy to my taste. I had this watch in my cart and after the purchase, the photo was a different one, more accurate with what is shown on this page.

2) The size of the case, without the crown is 35.5 mm, which is TOO small to my taste. (My wrist is 7 3/4)

3) The day and date don't align horizontally as they should.

I'm still undecided on keeping or returning it.

I've got a few watches and this one is one of my favorites to wear. Lightweight and comfortable to wear, this low cost automatic Seiko looks so much better than in the pics.

Looks kinda like a Rolex, and you can mod it to have different hands, which I am going to do. Put some of those Benz hands on this and make it look real pimp. ;)

The 7s26 automatic movement is made in Malaysia, has a see-through back, and bulue SAT and red SUN day colors on the day/date. Crown is at 4:00 and the day/date is at 3:00.

Classy Seiko for sure.
