Solid watch. 100m water resistance, Hardlex crystal (way better than mineral crystal and not expecting sapphire at this price point), applied markers and logo, solid endlink bracelet, black ion-plated finish (better looking than PVD in my opinion), good weight, solid feeling pushers, crown is not screw down though. Overall fit and finish is superb, there is not a single flaw anywhere on the dial or case. Chronograph hand always returns to 12 o'clock position with a smooth sweeping motion when reset. Chronograph hand also moves at what seems to be 4 or 5 ticks a second, so it is quite accurate. There are small lumed dots and lumed hand, typical Seiko brightness (ie good).

Main drawback is the date window which is dark and hard to see at times, but it's really not a big deal. Case diameter is approximately 42-43mm without crown, and lug-to-lug is approximately 51mm, so it is actually quite long lug-to-lug, so be aware of that. I have 6.5" wrists and it just fits (lugs don't go over my wrists), has lots of presence on the wrist since details on dial are very shiny. Looks way better in real life.

Overall it's a very good quartz chronograph. Battery and accuracy never ever have to be worried about. Seiko's solar technology is exceptional, and their quartz movements are very accurate. Just set it and forget it...it will keep time for a long time.

I have had seiko watches before and they are usually great, but this one the date skipped from the number9 to 21 without the numbers in between. Just bought a similar watch at my local jewelry store for admittedly $50 more, but all the dates work. If I hadn't needed the watch for a special function this past weekend, I would have gladly waited for a like replacement, I think this one may have been the exception, not the rule.

I'm a believer in Seiko -- excellent products at reasonable prices. I've had the watch for only a week, but so far it's great. Simple to operate, and no battery replacement. Works just like a solar powered calculator. Charge lasts about 6 mo. without sunlight. If it runs down, simply place it in sunlight or good artificial light and let it recharge. I like dark colored watches, and this black ion finish is perfect. Thus far, I would strongly recommend this new watch, which only recently came on the market.

I received this as a gift eight months ago, and I am a big fan of Seiko. I give it four stars because of two limitations, one being the small size of the date window and date numerals, mentioned in another review, and because the crown can be difficult to get into the proper position for setting the alarm. This makes the alarm difficult to set. The alarm itself is loud enough to wake me up, as long as it is close and ambient noise is low. Leaving it on the bed table works. I use it as a backup to my cellphone alarm. One limitation of the alarm is that it is a one-shot deal. Twenty seconds, then it stops ringing, and it won't ring again. Not a huge critique, but it is a consideration, especially since I've had cheap watches that reset automatically if the alarm has not been canceled. The watch itself is very attractive, has good weight and fits very well. Any limitations as to visibility of the dials should be chalked up to my fading near vision. The gloss black ion finish is holding up pretty well -- the clasp is showing some wear. I have received many compliments on the watch over the time I've owned it. The Solar power function is fantastic.

This is a beautiful watch. I am really impressed with the black ion plating, which is polished to a brilliant shine. The watch is easy to size, and has a micro adjustment to get it perfect. I have received two compliments thus far, and I have only had it one week. Time keeping is typical Seiko perfection. My only complaint is the tiny date window that is all but impossible to read. If they had used a white background in the date window set against a black number it probably would have worked. I do not know why Seiko uses this standard tiny useless date window on their chronos. If you are looking for a very stylish black IP dress/sport combination, you may like this one. Oh, and regarding the alarm? Forget it, a mouse couldn't hear it. This watch does not work very hard, but it is a stunner to look at. Remind you of anybody you know?

I originally purchased the similar SKA625 kinetic but after about a week it started to stop and go despite being sufficiently charged. I returned that one and bought this one as a replacement. I wore it about a week to get fully exposed to light and it has been doing fine. It keeps the time and looks great. I needed to shorten the band so a bought a tool to do that but an unbent paper clip would work as well. The hands get a little lost around 12:00, 6:00, and 6:30 because of the alarm and stop watch dials. When the hands seem lost in the dials I just tilt it a bit to reduce the reflection and can read it clearly. I would have preferred the second hand that is part of the stop watch to be a sweep second hand and the small dial be the second hand for the stop watch. To me that would have made more sense. I am happy with this purchase.
