LOVE THE CLOCK. THE CHIMES ARE SOOTHING TO HEAR ON THE HOUR. I ALSO LIKE THE CLOCK FACE. THE CABNETRY IS NOT OVERSTATED, JUST PERFECT.

I bought this as a gift for my widowed Mother who lives in a smaller home now as a gift for Christmas. I had to open the box just to be sure that it would be satisfactory in quality and appearance, and had my sister over to help with wrapping and advice on the gifts. We where both very pleased with the appearance of the sound and appearance of the clock, it's really a beautiful clock that will fit well in her new home.

The wood and detail in the wood, are outstanding. The faceplate is very rich and the contrast on the faceplate I would say will make easy to read even in low light. My sister said though it wasn't a high priced gift, it was going to be one of the nicest she'll get this year, apart from appliances and other more practical gifts, but it was something she would enjoy for it's appearance and the sound. My Mother has a few chiming clocks around her home and enjoys them, but again the size looks and sound are going to make this one of her favorites this year (according to my sister :)

Fit and finish on this product are great. For the price, it really is a beautiful little clock. The Hi-Fi melodies are clear and pleasing to the ear. HOWEVER....the clock is very light sensitive. During daylight hours, in a room with draperies drawn, the melodies do not play. The light sensor is not in the dial face, but is to the right of the dial, and appears to be shadowed by the clock framework. Aimed toward a "bright" window, the clock works well...but if skies become cloudy, it plays..maybe. Be this as it may, I guess this adds to the character of the device.

I purchased this clock to go on my fireplace mantel. The wood grain and face of clock makes it look expensive. I love the 6 Hi-Fi melodies that play on the hour. The clock has a volume control in the back and can be turned down or turned off at night. This clock is exquisite as far as wood grain texture and over all gives that expensive cost look. For $99.00 is was well worth the purchase.
