I bought this watch back in 1982 while I was on my first deployment with the U.S. Navy. I bought another one 18 months later while on my second deployment and mailed the first one to my mother. My mother still wears hers every day and so did I until a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, I took it to a watch repair shop because water was fogging up the crystal. I also decided to have it cleaned (for the first time) and it hasn't worked right since. Mine still has the original band. Nobody could believe how old that watch was.

Being in the Navy for 20 years, having a watch that keeps accurate time was very important. My watch was always within a couple of seconds of the ship's official time.

We both had a good laugh when I was going through some old paperwork from my early Navy days and I came across the 3 year warranty paperwork for the watches.

I HIGHLY recommend this watch to anyone who wants a trouble-free watch that keeps accurate time and looks great with whatever you wear. I plan to buy another one and I'm sure that it will last me another 20 years.

Seiko watches in my opinion are just about perfect. I only gave it 4 stars because I figure there are some thousand dollar watches that are probably better! But if you're like me and want a watch that will last a very long time with a timeless style, this is the watch for you. It is very comfortable to wear, and looks very classy. I have had mine for several years and other than an occasional battery, it runs perfectly and has caused me no problems at all. I love Seiko watches and for this price, you won't be disappointed.

I have owned two of these watches (only because I lost the first). It is a classic...keeps its luster year after year.

Acknowledging recommendation from the Seiko website, I purchased this watch through Amazon from an authorized dealer in Ohio.It arrived within 3 days, & I was pleased to find it even better looking than pictured.

Two weeks after I began wearing the watch, I began to experience random failures of the clasp, i.e., it became difficult to latch & would periodically open by itself. I took it to my local jewler who worked on it but was unable to fix it. I checked the warrenty & found that it "does not cover the watch band made of a material other than metal..."

Since mine is metal, I contacted the retailer in hopes of resolving the problem. The retailer suggested I contact Seiko, but warned they might not cover the clasp.

Bottom line, I had to pay Seiko another $25 + shipping for a new clasp & another $10 to have my jewler put it on.

Purchased this watch 12/7/2009 and gave it to my wife for Christmas present and on 2/1/2010 it died..........I took the watch to a mall and had a new battery installed just in case but it still will not work so I'll send it back to Seiko and hopefully it will be repaired..........this was an exact replacement of a watch I gave my wife 25 years ago that worked like a charm up until a couple of months before Christmas so I'm hoping I purchased a legitmate Seiko and not a cheap knockoff!!! I'm sending back to Seiko and will update this if it's repaired timely with no problems!
They repaired the watch no problems and it's still working great.........as of 11/11/11

My husband purchased this watch for me, but he let me pick it out. It's totally gold tone including the face and absolutely beautiful. Very classy. I love the way it fits on my wrist, and it's easy to read.

This beautiful watch was purchased for my wife in July of 2011 and is being returned to the Seiko service center for the third time because it, occasionally, simply stops keeping time or the day/date feature doesn't work. Seiko service personnel have been quick to repair and return the timepiece, but the fixes haven't worked, thus far. We're expecting a replacement, not a repair, or a total refund. [Update]: Three weeks have passed since we received this watch back from Seiko. Same timepiece--- hopefully fixed. As of this date (12/31/11), the wristwatch is keeping accurate time and date. Our fingers are crossed...

This is about the 4th one of this same watch that I have bought over the last 40 years or so. I don't remember when I first bought one, but they last a long time even with daily use. Just change the battery whenever it goes down and wipe clean once in awhile. It is a beautiful gold color that also lasts a long time. Even the crystal stays nice for years.

I got this watch to replace a similar Bulova that got all scraped up and eventually the mechanics broke. The gold tone is really nice and warm-looking and I always get compliments; people assume it's a Rolex it looks so nice on my wrist. Love it.

Nice watch, but found it at my local Drug Emporium for a lot less money!!!

It was VERY large, so I had to pay about $17.00 to have it sized down.

It looks nice and keeps good time so far.
