I wanted a two tone watch with black face and date and looked on internet and local jewlery stores. The stores had two tone but no black face, not even in their catalogs. I have never had a seiko before but was told that they were bought out by Buluva (spelling?)I have had many brands including Buluva and heard only good about Seiko. I could find many choices of what I was looking for on internet and narrowed it down to about three seikos I liked but could not make a decision until one day I looked and saw this one for the first time and did not hesitate, purchased it right then. It is a beautiful watch that i can wear everyday but also dressy. The diamond markers dress it up but it is not gaudy. I have a couple of issues though. The face is more dark grey than black, which somehow makes it hard to see time in lots of light and the many links taken out to fit actually makes the watch not centered. Not huge issues, but worth noting. I have looked back at my first choices though and do believe that I made the right choice for me. Hope this helps.
