I am pleased with my new watch as it is my way of starting to go "green" no more batteries for a watch.

I got this Seiko Women's automatic stainless steel watch (SYMD87) as a gift. Around one month later, I noticed that it jumps 5 mins ahead every 2-3 days; 6 weeks later, it is slow by 0.5 hour because it sometimes stops running; this happens very frequently. I sent it back to Nexus Associates as I was told by Amazon custom. Two months later, I got the watch back, I found out that the defect is still there. It jumps 3 min ahead with 24 hours, the accuracy is even worse. I wrote an email to the custom survice, and here is the reply:

"The watch you have purchased has an automatic movement and as it offers the convenience of a battery free operation it requires a proper winding as the movement of your arm. If that is not enough is always recommended to use a watch winder.
Every automatic watch that goes to our repair department is winded up with a winder after repaired and then has to pass a two days test after that; that will be the main reason why the system would not let me accept a return for one of those pieces especially if is over our returns and exchanges policy."

completely miss my point. The problem for me is that the watche jumps 3 min ahead within 1 day, but not that the winding is not enough when I wear it, it winds too much!!!

My beau gifted me with this, after knowing me several years. I do silver but not so masculine in style and that he saw this as appropriate makes me wonder why. This watch looks like it will tell people "she is manly" and that IS NOT appealing to me

I love this watch, I have always wanted this watch, and I enjoyed wearing it for a week and a half. It stopped cold, and I've yet to deal with the situation. As a self-winding watch I didn't expect this, but I'm confident I'll figure out the problem.

Date is too small to read. No day of the week. No special features. Over priced.
