There are all sorts of claims for fruit cereals that are "full of fruit and flavor".

On a scale of one to ten this one rates an 11. You won't believe how many red rasberries there are in the MYLAR package. There is one for every spoonfull you eat. It makes a fiber snack actually enjoyable. German food regulations also severely limit the use of pesticides which is NOT the case for U.S. regulations. Don't worry about it going stale and soggy as the mylar packaging keeps it fresh until it is gone. The package shelf life is longer than it will be in your home! Enjoy.

I also was buying this at HEB, but they reworked the cereal aisle and the #2 vanished. They still carry other numbers, but this is the one we like. I don't avoid wheat, but I like the grains this one features instead. Don't hesitate to buy the case. As all Seitenbachers, it's in sealed foil bags. If you like it well enough to order the case, you won't have to worry about shelf life. They don't skimp on the dried berries, either. Shake it up, though. The raspberries, being large and light, tend to float to the top of the package. Otherwise, the predominate notes are dried apples and oats.

When I first began buying this cereal through Amazon's Subscribe & Save program, it cost me under $24 for a package of 6... and I was blown away! Sure, $4/bag isn't exactly cheap, but the cereal was FANTASTIC. It was absolutely loaded with delicious red raspberries and was easily the best muesli I have ever had. If I remember correctly, it was also the #1 seller in its category at that time, so I wasn't the only person succumbing to the temptation of "Berries Temptation".

Unfortunately, something's gone wrong in Seitenbacher land. The price has gradually crept upward AND the quality has gone drastically downhill. My last order cost about $38 for a package of 6, so it had gotten kind of pricey. (And I see that the current price is now $55 or so, and that's simply ridiculous.) What convinced me to cancel my Subscribe & Save subscription, though, wasn't so much the price as it was the near total absence of raspberries in the last batch. Where a bowl of this stuff used to be loaded with raspberries, now a typical bowl has 3 or 4. Yes, 3 or 4 raspberries in a large bowl of cereal! Sheesh, it was the raspberries that made it special. Take those away and I'm every bit as happy with a bowl of Bob's Red Mill Old Country Muesli -- at a fraction of the stratospheric price of this stuff.

Heck, I don't know.... maybe they had a bad raspberry harvest in Deutschland last year and Seitenbacher is simply responding to market conditions. At close to $10/bag, though, I doubt they'll sell a lot of this stuff... and with hardly any raspberries any more, I doubt they'll get any repeat orders from the people who are silly enough to pay that much.

Bottom line, I am giving Seitenbacher the raspberry. They've ruined a truly great cereal.

I fell in love with Seitenbacher in the beginning. Then they fell off the pedestal. I began biting into bad tasting pieces of fruit or grain. YUCK. Won't buy this again. The ONLY reason I offer two stars is because they were awesome once. They can be again, but only with quality control.

So many Mueslis taste like cardboard. This one is flavorful and has lots of fruit, especially the whole red rasberries. Tasty wityh yogurt and a touch of jelly and even with pink grapefruit juice.

We love this healthy, wheat-free, tasty cereal and can no longer buy it at our local HEB, but it is readily available from Amazon.
