Canadian--but still Hot!,
By C-N-G "CNG" (Houston, Tx) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Seize The Day (Audio CD)
I'm confused.
Heh. Jacynthe is undoubtably attractive but it is her voice that will shine. Yes, she was great on her last albums, but here--as with some of her Christmas album (25*25)--she truely sounds like a woman. No more of that wise-for-her-years teenager stuff; here Jacynthe breaks through. Yes, the album is short, but not by much, seeing as the average album nowdays has ten songs. And unlike those, every song on Seize The Day is catchy and enjoyable, be they slow or fast. I'm not sure how well STD has done, but hopefully the distributors of Jacynthe's previous--and very OOP--albums will be encouraged to rerelease them; and she will get some better opportunities.(Casting her as the lead in the Canadian Simple Life was a step in the right direction). Heck, at least give the girl a reason to update her darn website.

Jacynthe is an incredible singer with an amazing CD,
This review is from: Seize The Day (Audio CD)
The first time I heard Jacynthe's voice was when she performed a duet with Ryan Malcolm on Canada AM. From that moment I was enraptured by her sweet voice, and so when I got the opportunity to hear her CD I jumped on it. From the fun, upbeat and slightly vengeful first track, Look Who's Crying Now, to the mature and vulnerable Broken Love, Jacynthe displays superb vocal qualities and a very honest and emotional outlook. Seize the Day is an inspiring track about living life to the fullest, and Undecided speaks about not knowing what's going to happen tomorrow, but being content with that. Don't Waste My Time expresses getting rid of a guy who lies and doesn't value her, while Rescue me and Need You Tonight are the exact opposite. Throughout the whole CD Jacynthe sings beautifully. This album is tough to find in stores, but believe me, once you ahve it, your only disappointment will be that it's only 8 songs!

Great and Canadian,
By John B Morton (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Seize The Day (Audio CD)
Seize the day is a great example of how talented Canadian artist are. I have the cd and play it over and over. The first single "Look who's crying now" is an awesome catchy revenge song that we all can relate to. The title track is beautiful. She also does a cover of INXS's need you tonight which is upbeat and her own. I'm sure Michael Hutchence would be proud. I think this cd gets lost of the shelf due to lack of promotion but if you see it, buy it. You won't be disappointed. Jacynthe is a big Canadian talent and I was hooked from the first moment I heard "Look who's crying now"
