Tabitha Devereaux, twin sister to Amanda and sister-in-law to former Greek Dark-Hunter Kyrian, is a true fighter: by day she runs an adult store that specializes in sexy clothing, has a bevy of unique friends - including a transvestite roommate - and by night she hunts vampires of soul-stealing Daimons who also suck human blood. Tabitha comes from a female-dominated family with sisters who have psychic powers ranging from foresight to telepathy. Tabitha herself is an empath and a series Daimon magnet.

Valerius Magnus, a Roman Dark-Hunter and mortal enemy of Kyrian, was transferred to New Orleans after Kyrian regained his soul from the goddess Artemis and left his hunter days behind. Everyone seems to despise Valerius. He is friendless, alone and unapproachable. Arrogant and condescending to an almost unbearable degree Valerius’ life is turned upside down the night he rescues Tabitha when she bites off more than she can chew...and although Tabitha is known to go looking for trouble this time around disaster in the form of a sinister evil come back from the grave is the one trying to find her.

This is the sixth book in the Dark-Hunter series and a definite improvement on its predecessors. This was a quick, thoroughly enjoyable read. It was exciting from beginning to end, whether that excitement came in the form of battling Daimons, familial spats and antics or an array of titillating characters. Once again, the highly mysterious Dark-Hunter leader Acheron played a large role, and we get to see Simi and Nick again. Also - a few Shocking Developments occurred in the latter half of this novel that change the Dark-Hunter world. Tensions - and adrenaline - were running high in Seize the Night.

** spoiler alert ** Another Excelent Read. Valerius and Tabitha's Romance story was awesome. I love how the Dark Hunters are becoming one big family.

I love seeing the other characters from the other books in this series show up later with updates of their lifes as the books go along. In this book, Tabitha's sisters are involved and Valerius brother Zarek and his enemies Julian and Kyrian finally become to a truce and understanding and become one big happy family.

I was actually surprised that Artemis didn't do anything stupid this time around to make me hate her even more.

The more I read about Simi, the more I love her. Simi and Nick get it on but when Acheron finds out, all hell breaks out.

However, in the end, a lot of family members and close friends get killed in this book like Tabithas sister Tia and Nicks mother.

Nick went crazy when his mother was killed and then turned around and called for Artemis to make him a Dark Hunter, she refused because she said he wasn't dead. Nick turned around and shot himself. Artemis couldn't believe what he had done and she couldn't get a hold of Acheron when she called to him so she turned Nick into a Dark Hunter and took him to her realm to await Acherons training.

I absolutely love this series.

From the first book, you're told Val is below human. Discussing waste of life that desecrated Kyrian and Julian. Their deep seeded hatred for him really knows no bounds.
What they don't tell you is that Val was FIVE when Kyrian was murdered, and Val's father took him to where they beat Kyrian. Val was so disgusted he ran away and almost threw up. Which caused Kyrian to be beaten more because of Val's reaction. He was then beaten by his father for being weak. "Romans aren't weak"
Everything nice he tried to do for anyone always ended up in them being treated worse or dying.
So when he meets Tabitha, it's like he's almost single minded, but at same time, he wants nothing to do with her, because he knows what will happen if he involves himself in her life.
It was almost disturbing how much he wanted her. Tabby was entirely cool with it after she stabbed him in a dark alley thinking he was a daimon.
Honestly other than Zarek's story this one was the most intense and actually got me excited to find out more about Ash.

This is the first (and most likely only) Sherrilyn Kenyon book I've read. The premise sounded interesting, given that I'm an Anne Rice fan (mostly her early Lestat and Lasher books).

This is book 7 of a series on immortal Dark-Hunters who hunt vampires. This book centers on Tabitha and Valerius. Tabitha is a human who hunts vampires and it's during one of her hunts that she meets Valerius, a Dark-Hunter disliked by everyone else.

I haven't been able to finish the book, not so much the plot, but SK's writing style. She is constantly going on about how this guy is so sexy and all about their sexuality and deliciousness and then doing the same for the next guy. It gets old after a few lines. And her sex scenes seem to go on forever. Don't get me wrong, I love a good sex scene in a book, but when its pages and pages of it...

After reading half the book, I haven't learned anything but what I've written above.

Valerius has been a loner for a long time from the rest if the Dark- Hunters. Bad history can keep with you when you're part of the undead. He came from blue blood, so he had a different type of demeanor compared to the o the Dark Hunters. He came across Tabitha, someone completely opposite from him. Even though she was the opposite, her quick whit, strength and smart intrigued him very much. They were getting real serious. They had a problem. Tabitha' s sister was married to another dark Hunter that loathed Valerius.
