Newlyweds Mark and Rhonda Colter find more than they bargained for during their first year of marriage in Shockey's rampantly melodramatic thriller. Mark hides his obsessive compulsive disorder (brought on by a traumatic childhood accident) from Rhonda; she hides her past history in pornography from him. Together, they are trying to deal with acts of mysterious, escalating violence?threatening phone calls, a rock through a window, missing files and photos from Rhonda's workplace, a vandalized car. These cliched criminal events appear to be related to stalkers from Rhonda's past until a silly revelation in the penultimate chapter undermines everything that has gone before it. An incendiary conclusion brings neighbors to the rescue, a personality turnaround in one of the main characters and total bemusement to any readers still left hanging around.

A suspenseful journey from human weaknesses to human cruelties,a dozen characters whom are interesting and not uncommon! Alot of us know someone like a few of these people(especially Castleberry!)Details of the main character's obssessive disorder are well written and graphic! Michael Shockey's debut thriller, "Seized" is absorbing!!

Penning a complicated plot with twists, and turns along with a true to life burden of one's emotional past and mental suffering, Dr. Shockey forces us [his readers] into the lives of two very special people.

Between the central characters resides a love that is so strong, it is the only glue that can "possibly" hold these fragile lives together. It is a love that I have not seen expressed so vividly and profoundly in quite some time.

"Seized" also attacks and demands of its readers a hard look into the realities of mental disorders and personal fulfillment's. Why must one suffer, and how far is one willing to go to get what they want?

If you are captivated by intrigue, suspense and mystery, and have a yearning for sincere love, then seize this opportunity to purchase this book.

A frightening look into the minds of two people so close in love and so far apart in their realities. Not only a vivid exploration of the human psyche, but a wonderfully told tale of love and mystery. I found myself wondering what the next chapter had in store for me every time I put the book down. And inevitably I would pick it back up again and go onward. The author has done a fantastic job of making you feel for the characters and keeps you on the edge of your seat virtually cheering them on! Rarely have I been so engrossed.
