Grip - I'd give it a 4/5 for grip as there are better options, particular in soggy wet conditions. But again this is a $50 glove, so good for high school or competitive club matches for sure. If you can't catch the ball cleanly with these, practice is the solution not better gloves. The palm is also a 3mm latex palm, which is ideal for some padding for hard shots, as well as durability.
Durability - This comes close to a 5/5 for me. Some people complain that the latex begins to tear after a few uses, well that's every glove with a decent latex palm. Expect to see little nicks and rips in the latex particularly at the heel of your hand and finger tips. This is normal and until you are getting close to there being no latex in those areas, the gloves still have plenty of grip. These generally last me a 4 months to a year depending on how often I play. For someone playing 5 days a week outside, maybe expect them to last one to two months. You can make them last longer by washing them. (NO SOAP) just run warm water through the gloves and squeeze it out, repeat 20-50 times till the water from the glove is generally clear. You can also run them alone through the washing machine without soap, but that will wear the gloves more than doing it by hand. Washing will also improve the grip immensely as well as slows down the wear process.
Backhand- I give these a 5/5 for the backhand.Read more ›
