I LOVE this book by Nikki. In fact, I've read it multiple times since I received it. I am pleasantly, surprisingly happy with the appearance of the book. It is in maculate condition, which means I would order from this vendor again because it is exactly as described on Amazon prior to purchase. Good job.

I share my personal library with so many folk, taking great care to keep my "rare" books under lock 'n key. However, sometimes the books get "liberated." Thank you for providing me with a way to replace this book inexpensively. Hopefully, I won't have to do it again. At least, not too soon :)

Best, Brenda

Happily, Maya Angelou isn't the only Black female to grace modern poetry's stage. Nikki Giovanni speaks with a voice informed by her multiple roles as Black woman, lover, mother, teacher, and poet. This collection of 150 poems is arranged chronologically and covers her work from 1968 to the present. Who knows? Maybe the next president will ask Giovanni to compose his inaugural poem! Be sure to check out two other compelling collections: "And Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou and "Selected Poems" by Rita Dove, America's Poet Laureate
