5.0 out of 5 stars Great resource, December 11, 2004
This review is from: Selected Works 1970-78, Dog Baseball 1986 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I think it's rather funny that people complained about the stupidty of this particular video - yet we all know they are here looking for movies about dogs in human clothes!

This is a great resource if you're interested in the early works of Wegman and know what you're getting into. They are very raw, very lo-fi but oddly creative and important if you're interested in the development of this artists career. If you're curious, do some research first. If you're just looking for movies about dogs in human clothes, don't go for the early stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't stop laughing, April 29, 2005

This review is from: Selected Works 1970-78, Dog Baseball 1986 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
My daughter, who was 11 at the time, and I were wandering around the Modern Art Museum in Paris and walked past a video screen where "Dog Duet" was playing. We stopped and were sucked in. We laughed until tears ran down our cheeks. The art is not in the production values; it's in the dislocation of your intelligence onto a new track, neurons skipping across their well worn dog-human paths into something strange and familiar at the same time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not at all what Wegmen is Famous for!!!, March 13, 2004
This review is from: Selected Works 1970-78, Dog Baseball 1986 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is a humorous group of very odd little films, showing a lot of the real Wegmen, I think.
It tickled the fancy of the least humorous person I know.
If you like Wegmen's dog photos, and are looking at this item only for it's dog baseball content, this isn't for you.
I suggest this to those of you with a very open minded sense of humor. Everyone else, stick to the black and chocolate lab photos.
