This book was written to help the public make an informed divorce lawyer selection when they are contemplating a divorce. It lists 975 divorce lawyers who practice on a full time basis. The author has created an efficiency factor for each lawyer based on the annual number of cases that they completed, and opened and the activity that they expended to complete these tasks. It further classifies each attorney by the economic sector that they serve (ie) low, lower middle, middle, upper middle, and high income. Also included in the book is a detailed description on how to use the guide, as well as, the divorce and mediation processes in Houston Texas. The book has 160 pages, plus a CD that contains the statistical data for all lawyers who made appearances in the Harris Co. Family Law Center in 2001 (i.e.) approx. 2300 attorneys.

I spent over one and a half years researching and observing the Houston Family Law community in action as a certified family mediator. I was appalled with what I saw and decided to write this book to demystify the divorce process and help the consumer make an informed decision when they have to select a divorce lawyer.
