Terrific mixed minimal tech-house, September 19, 2009

This is an excellent disc of minimal techno/tech-house tracks mixed by Riley Reinhold. This German and Detroit-influence techno dance music comprises electronic beats and textures with almost no vocals or melodies. People expecting soaring, build-and-breaks type trance will be disappointed. This music is understated and technical; in some passages, it reminds me of the hypnotic, rhythmic sounds that one can hear in an industrial plant. These aural textures are hardly monotonous, however; there is interesting progression within every composition, and each of the twenty-one tracks is distinctive. People who have enjoyed music by the likes of Gabriel Ananda, Thomas Schumacher, Robert Hood, Luciano, Pascal Feos, and Marco Carola will likely appreciate this disc.
