Editorial Reviews

Limited numbered edition of 2,500 on Red Colored Vinyl.

The vinyl contents are 8 tracks pulled from the long out of print Rhino Handmade HEADQUARTERS SESSIONS release. All the tracks are previously unreleased on vinyl, and is a mix of both alternate versions of songs that made the original HEADQUARTERS album along with outtakes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice collection, but someone is missing December 20, 2012

The new "selections from Headqaurters" vinyl collection is great, It's really an EP, with only eight tracks. The production and packaging is first rate. There is a warmness that comes from vinyl. Hearing Nez sing lead on "The girl that I knew somewhere" was great.

My only complaint was the lack of any lead vocals from Davy Jones. None of his great tracks from Headquarters have been included. Otherwise, a cool collection from one of the bands best efforts.

3.0 out of 5 stars Short album February 4, 2013

It's okay that it's on colored vinyl, the jacket looks like there wasn't much thought in slapping it together during the last minute of designing the cover. It's the same photo used on the Rhino box set, there are many photos from that shoot they could have used to make it look more interesting. The album is very short, if they were going to use just a handful of long takes, it should have been a double album for the price they put on it. If you already paid the big price for the CD box set, you really don't need this item, not much to write home about.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love the Monkees January 31, 2013

A decent album, but I noticed it skips on some turntables. Says something about the quality of the manufacturing of the record. It does play on a high end player. Only other drawback is there are only eight songs on the thing. The CD it comes from was loaded with stuff...they could have squeezed a few more songs on the vinyl.
