For Selena's fans,

It seems to me that Selena's family is still reproducing the same material again and again. The DVD Selena: Greatest Hits (2003) was in fact included as a bonus material in the CD Selena Ones (2002). As a Selena's fan, however, I bought both. I rate the DVD a 4 stars because the quality of the picture should be improved.

This DVD has all 13 Selena videos that show her at her best. Particularly good are Bidi Bidi Bom Bom, La Llamada, and Amor Prohibido.

I loved Selena's music and videos.I heard about her dying when I was at Tower records.I immediately wanted to listen to her music cuz I had a feeling i'd love it and have never stopped loving her music and videos.I even saw her bro's and sisters perform at the fair years after her death.Awesome!

My compilation idea.,

Every couple of years, Capitol Records releases a new compilation album with the same Selena songs in English, and I think fans want something new. I know, Selena died and it is impossible for her to record new material, but I wish Capitol Records would release an album inspired by Selena's English crossover, with versions of her English tracks mixed differently, like Madonna's The Immaculate Collection album, which featured her greatest hits from the '80s remixed by Q-Sound engineers. If a Selena album with slightly remixed, edited or remastered versions of songs like:
- I Could Fall in Love - Dreaming of You - Where Did the Feeling Go? - I'm Getting Used to You - Is It the Beat? - Captive Heart - Only Love and the original versions of "Missing My Baby," "A Boy Like That," a new version of "Disco Medley," similar to the one used in the live performance scene of the film, Selena, but without the cheering crowd (obviously) and finally, the English version of Selena's vocals in the duet, "God's Child," by David Byrne, I believe would resonate with more of Selena's fans than just the same old songs, re-released without any new changes to them. I have been a Selena fan for my entire life and I have dreamed of an album like this for so long and I really hope most of her fans agree with me. I also hope that Capitol Records sees this someday and releases a compilation album that is similar to the one I've dreamed up. |
