Lavish 52-Card Deck Dedicated To Self-Care,
This review is from: Self Care Cards (Large Card Decks) (Misc. Supplies)
In these hurried and stressful times, we may forget the importance of slowing down and taking the time for self-care.
Cheryl Richardson, New York Times bestselling author of Life Makeovers and Take Time For Your Life, has a gorgeous 52-card deck dedicated to self-care. These inspirational Self-Care Cards will challenge you to take a specific action to improve the quality of your life in some way. Whether you elminate clutter, clarify your priorities, take a leap of courage, or listen to your wise self, you'll experience the power of using small changes to make a big difference in your life. Each of these vibrant, glossy cards brings a specific aspect of self-care into focus. For example, the PLAYFULNESS card shows a woman enrobed in purple with a sleeping child in the center. The back of this card says Play with a child. Children are your greatest teachers. When we're busy taking care of the bills and a household, one of the first things that seems to get sacrificed is a sense of playfulness. When I look at this card, I'm reminded that we all have an inner child within, and accessing a sense wonderment, curiosity and lightheartedness is one way we can take care of ourselves and neutralize strses. On the card Time, a cherubic girl in a lavish gold dress looks at us, while gears, planets and stars swirl overhead. Beside her is a table bearing a hourglasss, which is surrounded by several clock faces. The back says Schedule a sacred date with yourself. You deserve time for your life. Other self-care cards include SILENCE, RELAXATION, FAITH, RELEASE, CHOICE, GUIDANCE and OPPORTUNITY. You can draw a card a day to center in on a specific aspect of self-care, or even shuffle them and pick one when you'd like some insight and guidance into your life. With breath-taking art by Jean-Paul Avisse, Core Wolfe, and Shirley Ann--coupled with the wise words of life coach Cheryl Richardson--Self-Care Cards are a wonderful way to take the time to be mindful of your own needs and wishes. Good for reflection, meditation, and self-exploration,

This deck of cards provides a good jumping-off point for reflection. Choose one, and focus on the "new-age" images, most of which are highly detailed and somewhat resemble dream images. Inspirational/guiding quotes are on the back. Be aware that there is some frontal female nudity on a small number of the cards - not pornographic, but rather artistic in nature; this may be "jolting" to some viewers. Both African-American and Caucasian women are portrayed; there is only one image that uses a male figure as the main feature. If you're having trouble focusing on a bothersome issue, or slowing down in your life, this deck is quite helpful as a tool of self-exploration. Images are by three different artists. You can preview some at the author's own website.

Professional Psychic Uses For Her Own Readings,
This review is from: Self Care Cards (Large Card Decks) (Misc. Supplies)
Hi there, I am a professional psychic who reads for thousands of folks per year. This is one of the best quick focus decks I have found out there. Works on REAL issues rather than a lot of fluff! One spread I use is "what 3 aspects do I need to focus on in the coming month?" Right there are your answers, the 3 chards you choose! VERY GREAT deck. I am recommending them to my students for their use as one of their more valuable tools.I wouldn't use them for the entire reading, but for self guidance or to cap off a client's reading they are right on! ...

My Quest For Self Care Led Me to This Wonderful Deck!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Self Care Cards (Large Card Decks) (Misc. Supplies)
I've always found frustration when working with tarot cards. Memorizing what each card means (example :two of swords? What the heck does that mean!) and working with images that did not speak to me had finnally made me decide to call it quits. This deck was my final deck and now I'm very glad I got it. The images speak loud and clear to me. Their beauty touches my inner world and the simple suggestions on each like Relax or Dream keep it from getting too complex and instead keep it simple enough that revelation unfolds naturally infront of me like an opening flower instead of me sitting there my brow furrowed in confusion as I try to piece together a tarot puzzle that seems complex and incomprehensible as quantum physics. This deck is wonderful! Often I ask a question and pick a single card from the deck and receive instant feedback that helps me.

A good friend gave me this beautiful deck of cards as a birthday gift two years ago. I keep them by my bedside and change the card each evening, reflecting on the words and lovely artwork on each one before I go to sleep. They are truly food for the soul.

Soulfully Spectacular,

These cards are simply beautiful and therapeutic both to look at and to read. The art tends toward a Romantic style and features women of many cultures. Some cards do feature nudity and while it is artistic, rather than pornographic, this is something to consider before buying this deck.

These cards are beautiful to look at; and very easy to use! They are simple self-care cards with short and to the point messages for you to reflect on during your day. I also enjoy using these as guidance to questions. Try doing what I do and record your card readings in the Tarot Journal. Its a non-specific journal for recording readings of any kind using any Oracle Deck! Plus the artwork is really neat! Tarot Journal

Exquisite art coupled with sage advice,
By
This review is from: Self Care Cards (Large Card Decks) (Misc. Supplies)
This engaging collection is sumptuous to absorb with all its textured artwork and subtle wisdom. I am definitely more a fan of Avisse that the others, and his haunting images come to mind often. The women in his art are sensual yet strong, set against striking backgrounds and evoking in turn both calming and invigorating emotions.
However, I did not find the affirmations of the Self Care Cards as profound or inspiring as Ms. Richardson's Grace Cards. Although they are uplifting and positive, they did not strike the deep personal chord with me that the Grace Cards did. These cards impart wisdom from a bit of a different viewpoint - more of an inner awareness. The artwork here, from Corey Wolfe and Shirley Ann as well as Jean-Paul Avisse, is worth the purchase price alone, and I do feel most will enjoy the messages of self-care. I would also recommend that if you enjoy this sort of collection, are spiritually minded, and like to be reminded of the presence of a higher power in your life, look into Ms. Richardson's Grace Cards as well. Together they create both the inside and outside of a perfect circle. |
