I've been a science fiction lover since the age of 10, and am always looking for a great read to sweep me away. The Self-Consistent Solution is it--a truly great read! The story is enjoyable and engaging, and moves by quite quickly, as Ms. Wilson's elegant straightforward prose style serves the story well. The novel is not only a cautionary tale of where our current society may be headed, but delves deeply into the question: What is it that makes a society? How do we construct one from scratch? Her ideas on the subject are insightful and original, and beautifully wrapped up in a space travel/time travel adventure. I highly recommend this book, and look forward to reading more of Ms. Wilson's work.
