This review is from: Self-Determination Across the Life Span: Independence and Choice for People With Disabilities (Paperback)
As an Occupational Therapist working in the field of young people with disability,I often find it difficult to acquire reading material which justifies purchasing. It is heartening therefore to discover that Sands and Wehmeyer have co-edited a wonderful "Life-Span" book. This book examines the real possibility of seamless transitions from youth to old age, for any person with a disability. It is written with great sensitivity, and the chapter by Doll is particularly exciting in its "forward-thinking". I would have no hesitation in recommending this book to anyone working in the field of disability, and I feel it would be of special interest to parents of adolescents with a disability.I just couldnt put it down.....
